After taking a number of  hits during last week’s loss to the Vikings,  Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III admits he doesn’t think how they might affect his body. “I don’t think about it,” he said via ESPN.com. “I think a lot of people do. It comes down to, you’ve got to take it week to week and not worry about the years down the road when it comes to those hits. You have the future in mind, but you’re still competitive on that day.” Griffin knows he can’t those kind of hits. “Bottom line, I can’t take those amount of hits,” Griffin said. “You don’t want to be hit that much. A lot of great quarterbacks don’t get hit that much. It’s not just me, it’s a lot of things that go into that. We just have to get better.” Griffin has known since he injured his knee last year that he can’t a lot of hits.  The problem is he’s not disciplined enough to keep himself out of harms way. While RG3 made a lot of plays last week against Minnesota,  hewas  way too reckless for his own well-being.   Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Darrell Green: RG3 is not the leader of the Redskins

Former Redskins great Darrell Green was a guest on Showtime’s Inside the NFL. Green was asked about the state of the Redskins right now. “It’s not very good. It’s not very good, . . . I think that it’s been rough, but it looks like the kid — and I’m talking about RGIII — it looks like he’s starting to get it back. But I just feel so bad that you would have a system...

Darrell Green talks Redskins on Inside the NFL

Former Redskins CB and NFL Hall of Famer Darrell Green was on Showtime’s Inside the NFL this week to discuss the state of the Washington Redskins with the show’s panelists, Cris Collinsworth, Phil Simms and James Brown. Collinsworth seems pretty upbeat about the team going into next season and wants the Skins to stay the course. “Don’t fire the coach! I mean, they’re going...

RG3: Bottom Line, I Can’t Take Those Amount Of Hits

Robert Griffin III has taken some vicious hits this season, but luckily for him and the Skins, he’s still standing. ESPN.com is reporting that Griffin III is wary of all the hits he’s taking, and he’s fully aware that he can’t continue to take that type of punishment. “Bottom line, I can’t take those amount of hits,” Griffin said. “You don’t want to be hit that...

Robert Griffin III says 'bottom line, I can’t take those amount of hits'

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was hit 18 times against the Vikings in last Thursday’s loss, and he says that's way too much. He said that the number of hits has to decrease regardless of the reason why they’re happening. The future of the franchise QB depends squarely on how much punishment he takes and the offensive line, receivers, and Griffin himself has to...

RGIII: Dealing with pressure hard here, but ‘I’ve got tough skin’

As he and his teammates have opened the season with a 3-6 record for a second consecutive season, Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has come under more scrutiny and drawn more criticism than at any point in his life. Griffin surmises that his job as quarterback both of the Redskins, and in the NFL in general, subjects him to a brighter spotlight and more intense...

Is RG3 a ‘bad’ leader?

Last season, the Washington Redskins were 3-6 through the first ten weeks of the season; this season they’re 3-6 through the first nine weeks of the season. Last season, the Redskins were able to right right their ship winning their final seven games finishing the season first in the NFC East division with a 10-6 record.  Robert Griffin III was a big factor in righting the Redskins...

Washington Redskins Rebranding = $$$

It happens almost like clockwork in some form of fashion. Someone re-hashes the old adage of using Native American names for sport teams, like the Washington Redskins, which just happen to be the flavor of the year. Let’s put aside the obvious fact that many people forget that there are more teams out there with Native American names then just the Washington Redskins of the NFL...

London Fletcher: “The great thing about this year is that the NFC East is so terrible”

Even though the Redskins are only 3-6,  linebacker London Fletcher knows they’re still in the playoff hunt because of how bad their division is. “The great thing about this year is that the NFC East is so terrible.” said Fletcher via Philly.com. “You look at it and we’re in Week (11), and our leader is 5-5. So even at 3-6, we’re conceivably still in this thing.” ...

Darrell Green: “RG3 is not the leader of the Redskins”

The Redskins lack leadership, or at least that is what former Redskins’ great Darrell Green had to say on Showtime’s Inside the NFL this week. Green, a Hall of Famer who can easily be asserted as one of the best cornerbacks in league history, voiced his opinion about Robert Griffin III and the overall state of the Redskins who have now fallen to 3-6. “It’s not very good...

Washington Redskins: 2013 Week 11 NFL Power Rankings (#23)

Last week: 23 (+0) Record: 3-6 The Redskins are at 3-6, which is right where they were last season when they ripped off 7 straight wins and won the division. The difference this year is that their remaining schedule is harder and their team isn’t as good. Last season, they’re final 7 opponents finished 48-64. This year, their final 7 opponents currently are a combined 37-36....

Redskins Stat of the Day: Pierre Garcon

WR Pierre Garcon has 61 receptions, the most in the NFC. His 18 third down receptions are third-most in the entire NFL. Garcon is on pace this season to catch 108 passes for 1428 yards, which would be career highs in both cases. The 108 receptions would be a franchise record, breaking the mark of 106 by Art Monk in 1984, which was an NFL record at the time.

Clinton Portis Says Having A Big Sack Made Him A Good Running Back

Whatever helps you score points… Thanks to Gamedayr.com, found out something we didn’t necessarily know about Clinton Portis. Portis was visiting Fox Sports 1 on the set of “Crowd Gone Wild”, the host of “CGW” Regis Philbin asked a pretty straight forward question… “What makes you a good running back?” Portis answer?   Wasn’t the answer we were expecting...
