Back when all of Washington DC was excited at the potential of what a Washington Redskins squad led by Robert Griffin III could be, Donovan McNabb was not. He even went as far as to say that his former coach Mike Shanahan would eventually turn Griffin into a bust.
Fast forward a full season later and it’s apparent that all of Washington DC was right and McNabb was wrong. But of course, McNabb isn’t acknowledging that he was wrong. Instead he extended an invitation to Griffin to have a father-son meeting with the young Redskins camp because in his eyes, Griffin should want McNabb to mentor him.
Well, it turns out that Griffin doesn’t want McNabb as a mentor and he said as much in an interview with GQ recently.
“I don’t think Donovan is an idiot by any means,” he told me. “But right now, it’s probably best we don’t talk.”
This quote is “interesting” to say the least. Let’s analyze it, shall we?
“I don’t think Donovan is an idiot by any means.”
Translation: He thinks McNabb is a t
