EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Tom Brady was not going to let his returning toy go untargeted.
Rob Gronkowski was thrown to a game-high 17 times on Sunday in the Patriots’ loss to the Jets. He caught eight of those passes for 114 yards, but the return certainly could have gone better for the All-Pro tight end. And a win would have cleared all mistakes.
Gronkowski lost one ball in the lights in the end zone and he had two key drops on the Patriots’ fourth quarter drive that resulted in a game-tying field goal. He wouldn’t admit he was knocking off any rust, though.
“I wouldn’t want to put it like that, because that’s what practice is for — to knock off the rust,” Gronkowski said. “There’s just no excuses. Just gotta make plays at all times. Just gotta work hard in practice and got to keep on grinding. I have to keep on getting better every week.”
Gronkowski admitted he lost the ball in the lights in the end zone. It wasn’t clear what happened on the play at the time as the ball sailed ov

So New York Jets rookie Sheldon Richardson says the NFL babies New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. For those wondering what exactly that might look like, the New York Post is here to help.
In their story advancing Sunday's latest Patriots-Jets matchup, Richardson never really talked about "babying," but the beauty of the tabloid world is that it takes only...

Brett Favre knows a thing or two about a thing or two about having a good season in the NFL. The future Hall of Famer played almost 20 full seasons in the league going to 11 Pro Bowls and (finally) retiring as one of the best signal-callers the game has seen.
He also saw some frustrating seasons, especially in Green Bay, where the team was in a state of transition at times. Ironically...

Four games into this season, the New England Patriots' offensive line was ranked 5th by profootball focus. They had allowed seven sacks and Tom Brady fumbled twice over those four games. Since that time, the Patriots' o-line has given up four sacks... to the Cincinnati Bengals, five sacks to the New Orleans Saints, and four sacks the the New York Jets. Brady has fumbled a...
Geno Smith got his first taste of victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. New York's first year gunslinger has a great appreciation for this bitter AFC East rivalry.
It was both a great day and a horrible day for a Patriots fan to watch their team play on the road in MetLife Stadium.
I was on the scene in the stands at MetLife Stadium to witness the return of Rob Gronkowski but also the Pats' second loss of the season.
For one, it was one of the most exciting games the Patriots have played this season. An overtime thriller that unfortunately...
