Infections can be a serious thing post-surgery, it is one of the things that doctors always warn you about, because if something does get infected, you have to basically have the same surgery all over again. Doctors thought they got all of GRONK’s infection out after his 3rd surgery on his forearm, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski ”very likely” will require a fourth surgery on his left forearm, this one to remove the plate inserted in the arm in order to ensure an infection has been eradicated, two sources told ESPNBoston.com’s Mike Reiss. Gronkowski was in California visiting friends recently, and when he woke up in the morning, his arm was swollen and he noticed some discharge. After he called the Patriots, the club quickly arranged for his cross-country return to Boston to address the issue. The timeliness was crucial to avoid any more serious complications. If another surgery is needed, GRONK could be out another 10 weeks, if the infection is very serious, he could be out the entire year, it is just a wait and see process at this time.
