Found September 10, 2013 on Rumors and Rants:
PLAYERS: Rob RyanRex Ryan
TEAMS: New Orleans Saints
The Saints winning a game with an honest-to-God goal-line stand is enough reason for a parade through New Orleans in itself. But it turns out new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan gave one lucky group of fans even more reason to celebrate their win over the Falcons on Sunday night. According to the NOLA Defender blog, Ryan showed up at the Uptown bar Ms. Mae’s, where he was showered with applause upon walking in. (We’re guessing it’s the only shower he had all week). Ryan then plopped a $100 bill on the bar, told the bartender to buy everyone a drink on him, and keep the change. And then he wandered back out into the night. The only thing that makes this story better is his choice of location, which pretty much screams “Rob Ryan.” For the uninitiated, Ms. Mae’s is a classic New Orleans dive bar. It’s Uptown, which means it’s local unless you are a fairly enterprising tourist. It’s also open 24 hours, which means it’s awesome if you are a fairly enterprising drunk. It’s also cheap, whi...

Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan celebrated Sunday’s win by buying a round at New Orleans bar

Rob Ryan coaching in New Orleans is perfect on many levels: the hair, the “I don’t give a F” attitude. But the most perfect thing about Ryan coaching in New Orleans is the fact that Ryan is just a regular dude that just so happens to coach football. For example, while other Saints players and coaches celebrated Sunday’s win over the Falcons either privately or in downtown...

Rob Ryan Bought Drinks For An Entire Bar After Saints Win

Rob Ryan made his debut on Sunday as the Saints defensive coordinator. New Orleans closed out their victory over the Falcons with a late defensive stand, reminding the rest of the league that they are indeed capable of stopping others from scoring. Furthermore, they gave Wolfman Rob a reason to hit the town to celebrate, though he might have done that anyway.Once [Ryan] got out of...

LT says Rex Ryan told Jets he would punch Belichick in the face

Jets coach Rex Ryan and the Patriots have had a heated rivalry that's only gotten hotter with Rex Ryan at the helm in New York. We know that there's a bit of dislike between the players. Apparently Rex Ryan played a bit off that with a joke to his team during former running back turned NFL Network analyst Ladanian Tomlinson's tenure. LT #FTW RT @BrianCoz: Tomlinson...

Rex Ryan once told Jets he was going to punch Bill Belichick in the face

When Rex Ryan was first hired by the New York Jets, he started his tenure out with a bang by saying he did not come to the AFC East to kiss Bill Belichick’s rings. Since then, Ryan has been nothing but complimentary toward Belichick, often referring to him as one of the greatest coaches of […]

Initial Reaction – 1-0: New York Jets Pull Out Stunning Win

Whoa. Admit it, you were cursing Rex Ryan and his overrated, un-clutch defense after Tampa Bay took a 17-15 lead with 34 seconds left. A terrific all around effort from his unit and an encouraging debut from Geno Smith was about to go to waste because of one ill-timed blitz and one missed tackle. The media would pile on and revel in the Jets 0-1 start. Yet, today wasn’t a day for...

Rex Ryan on Geno Smith: He stepped up

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan credited Geno Smith's mobility in leading Gang Green to a victory at MetLife Stadium over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Game Balls: Jets vs. Bucs “Holy S@#!t”

This is marks the first regular season edition of “Game Balls” that almost never was as the New York Jets snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and victory from the jaws of defeat in the span of about two minutes. I never thought that I would see a team “out-Jets” the Jets but a little dose of Greg Schiano was apparently what the doctor ordered and without further ado...

Jets’ quest to prove pundits wrong begins behind rookie QB

The stench of the 2012 Jets season has lingered like a pile of dirty laundry and garbage around the organization for eight months. Now the new season is here. The Jets have a lot of new faces starting with rookie quarterback Geno Smith who will make his first official NFL start Sunday against the Buccaneers. Smith saw limited time in the preseason and was handed the starting job...

Offense, led by the line, struggles in loss to Saints

The 2013 season began for the Atlanta Falcons much the way their previous campaign ended: Coming up short on fourth down inside its opponents' 10-yard line with quarterback Matt Ryan under pressure. In January, the opponent was San Francisco and the failure to convert cost the Falcons a chance to advance to the Super Bowl. Eight months later, it was their most-hated foe, the New...

Muhammad Wilkerson Says Jets Will Beat Patriots And Be 2-0

The Jets are doing some talking to the New England Patriots, and it’s not coming from Rex Ryan. Even amid the -14 point spread the Jets are facing, the team and players feel good about their chances.  Muhammad Wilkerson even went out on a limb. While speaking to Bob Glauber of Newsday, Wilkerson all but guaranteed “the Jets would beat the Patriots,” and stay undefeated on...
