A day later, Panthers coach Ron Rivera was still upset about his team blowing a 17-point, first-half lead. The Panthers allowed Detroit to score touchdowns on five of their six second-half possessions in the Lions' 45-39 win. Carolina (2-8) gave up franchise worsts in yardage (495) and first downs (29) in the loss, while allowing the third-most points in franchise history. Rivera was particulary bothered by the fact that the defense allowed the Lions to march down the field for a second-quarter touchdown after the Panthers had taken a 24-7 lead -- their biggest of the season. The Lions converted a third-and-12 early in the drive when Matthew Stafford hit Nate Burleson for a 15-yard completion. Rivera said his young team lacks the killer instinct. "The situation that has to happen is we've got to find a way to not to worry about losing again and worry about winning again. I think that's part of our problem, when something bad happens the wind goes right out of our sails," Rivera said...
