Rookie Jamoris Slaughter was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the sixth round (175th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. Slaughter ruptured his Achilles tendon in his third game for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2012 and his rehab is over. He’s been practicing during OTAs, but his true test is when camp opens. He will be in competition with Tashaun Gipson and Johnson Bademosi for the right to play next to starter T.J. Ward. Slaughter (6-0, 195), says his injury made him even hungrier than ever and starting is the goal he has in mind. “I’m cleared at this point to do everything, so I’ve been feeling really good,” Slaughter said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I’ve been working out hard with the team, just waiting to get back for training camp.” "I've been doing all of the workouts, my leg feels great,'' he said. "I'm looking forward to training camp.'' "I think I bring intensity,'' he said. "I've got a passion for the game, a love for the game. And I just like winning. I have that winning mentality, so I'm just going to bring everything I've got. They tell me they drafted me for a reason, so I'm going to go out there and prove to them that I'm worth what they think I am.''
