Found August 31, 2012 on NFL Draft Zone: Yardbarker Blogger Network
Brandon Washington went on record earlier this year saying if he knew he would have been drafted as late as he did (6th round) he would have stayed in school.  Unfortunately for the big man from the “U”, he made the wrong decision.  As did his teammate Tommy Streeter in Baltimore who was put on the IR today, which could end his year.  Washington was a very young player coming into the draft and I am sure he will get a workout for the Dolphins in a few days, since they could use some help on the line, and they have the most knowledge of him. A sixth-round draft pick of the Eagles in 2012, Brandon Washington was a three-year letterman at Miami (FL) and notched a streak of 25 consecutive starts in his junior and senior seasons at both guard and tackle.  This is a reason I get mad at players coming out of school to early.  The media and agents blow up these kids, to think they can make millions, when they are just not ready.  Good luck Brandon but your path won’t be an easy one.

Chris Polk Makes the Eagles Roster, Willing to Do Whatever It Takes to Contribute

Four months ago, Chris Polk was believed to be one of the top running backs in the 2012 NFL draft coming out of the University of Washington. By the end of day three of the draft, however, Polk found himself unselected and with an uncertain future standing before him. DeMeco Ryans Looks to Quarterback a Philadelphia Eagles Bounce Back On Defense

After a very aggressive offseason prior to the 2011-2012 NFL season – including signing Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha – the Philadelphia Eagles were thought to be one of the more likely Super Bowl contenders. Quarterback Vince Young, who the team had signed to back up the reborn Mike Vick, labeled the team as a “dream team” before they’d even hit the field as a unit...

Reid faces win-or-else directive from Eagles

Still reeling from personal tragedy, Andy Reid now faces his toughest personal challenge. Reid enters his 14th season as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles with no promises he'll be back for No. 15. In fact, owner Jeffrey Lurie made it clear the Eagles must win for Reid to keep his job. ''We need substantial improvement,'' Lurie said. ''As I said...

Eagles Owner Jeffrey Lurie Says Eagles Need More From QB Michael Vick

If the Eagles are going to be a Super Bowl team this season, it will be on the back of Michael Vick. “We expect Michael Vick to have terrific year,” Jeffrey Lurie said at Lincoln Financial Field, before the Eagles’ final preseason game against the Jets. “That’s why he’s the starting quarterback. That’s why he’s been signed for a number of years. I have to say that Michael...

Fan Catches LeSean McCoy In Circle K

Just stopped by for a Gatorade Juan…   LeSean McCoy can’t even stop by a Circle K for a Gatorade without attracting attention to himself.  That’s what happens when you are a stud RB playing for the Eagles.  McCoy is part of the Three Amigo fantasy RBs that everyone coveted in drafts.  With the Eagles paying their young back big bucks this offseason, you know they love him...

Eagles Trim to 53 and Make Trade for Safety

The Eagles, like the rest of the NFL trimmed their roster to 53 players yesterday. There weren’t too many surprises, but a couple of names have been around town for a while and will now be looking for new homes. Another player found a new home in Philly. Mike Kafka, who was named the #2 QB on the team at the start of OTAs lost his job.  Nick Foles, the rookie out of Arizona won...

Eagles Finally Riding Themselves of Practice Squad Talent

As the Eagles 53 man roster starts to take shape, I’m glad to see they cut Chad Hall. I have nothing against Hall, and he’s a very likeable guy, but one of the major problems the Eagles have had under this regime at times is a severe lack of talent evaluation. Chad Hall is simply not an NFL caliber player, and the Eagles have carried guys like him on their roster for far too...

Eagles Release QB Mike Kafka

The Eagles reportedly were trying to trade quarterback Mike Kafka but were apparently unable to find a partner so they released him according to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly.com. "In the end, we had to make the difficult decision to let Mike Kafka go," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "Mike is a class act, a student of the game and a great person and I think will have no...

Browns Trade SS David Sims To Eagles

The Eagles acquired safety David Sims from the Browns late Friday evening for a conditional draft pick. To make room on their newly-sculpted 53-man roster, they released Julian Vandervelde. “Solid tackler, can play on special team,” said general manager Howie Roseman. “He’s a guy that we’ve been following throughout the course of this preseason.” The 5-9, 204-pound Iowa...
