New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees once again has Dan Marino's NFL single-season passing record in sight. Three years ago, he was on the cusp of breaking Marino's 1984 mark of 5,084 yards - only to fall 15 yards short. "At the time, it was disappointing because we didn't make the playoffs that year," Brees said. "So I thought if we're not going to make the playoffs, let's at least set the record. I mean, let's make this season (memorable) for something. "And then to fall that short and to miss by 15 yards - are you kidding me? As hard as it is to even sniff that number, we were there, we were right there. It ate at me for a while just because I knew we had the chance to get it." With five games remaining this season, Brees is on pace to surpass Marino's mark. He leads the NFL with 3,689 yards.
