TEAMS: New Orleans Saints, New York Giants
The first half of today's game against the New York Giants at Metlife Stadium hasn't been kind to the New Orleans Saints, as five players have already been shaken up.
The most serious of the injuries appears to be to free safety Malcolm Jenkins, who has some sort of right leg injury, and right tackle Zach Strief, who has suffered an ankle injury.
Also, linebacker Jonathan Vilma, who appeared to have suffered a left arm or shoulder injury, receiver Devery Henderson, who limped off the field with some sort of ankle or leg ailment, and running back Darren Sproles (right leg) left the game but all returned.
Their injuries apparently weren't serious, although Vilma did spend some time in the locker room. Source: The Times Picayune Attached Thumbnails

Saints not the same without Payton
It’s easy to quantify a player’s contributions to his team. You take whatever relevant stats you can gather, compound them in a way you think reveals their contributions most accurately, then you argue until you’re blue in the face about which athlete is the best. Then you call everyone who disagrees with you an idiot. Then you comment on someone’s article about what an idiot...
Darren Sproles Scores Two TDs vs. Giants
Saints tailback Darren Sproles received his first carries since Week 8 Sunday against the Giants and turned in 56 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He also caught four balls for 28 yards and another score.Fantasy Spin:Sproles has been heavily involved in the passing game since returning from a hand injury in Week 12, but he didn't run the ball once in the previous two games...
Saints 'not playing smart,' playoff chances fade
Another mistake-filled loss has left the New Orleans Saints in a situation they've never dealt with since Drew Brees arrived in 2006 - playing for little more than pride in with three weeks still left in the regular season.
Although the 5-8 Saints aren't officially eliminated from the playoff race after falling 52-27 to the New York Giants on Sunday, they know it would take...
Saints Nation: Saints Crushed by Giants 27-54 as Playoff Hopes Evaporate
It's official: I'm ready to call the 2012 New Orleans Saints' season over. The Saints came into Giants Stadium and put together their worst team performance of the season (worse than the Broncos game in my opinion) and got blown out 27-52. I say the worst performance of the year because the game was truly lost in all three phases of the game. Special teams coverage units...
Reports: Bounty verdict will be delayed a week
The New Orleans Saints' bounty ordeal likely will move a step closer to finality Tuesday, when arbitrator Paul Tagliabue is expected to issue his verdict on the players' appeals, multiple media outlets reported. However, Tagliabue's verdict is expected to be delayed for a week so the players can ask the U.S. District Court in New Orleans to validate the ruling. Jonathan...
Saints RB Chris Ivory Doubtful For Game Vs Giants
New Orleans Saints running back Chris Ivory has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury.
He is currently the third running back on the Saints depth chart, behind Pierre Thomas and Mark Ingram.
Ivory, in his third season, has 36 carries for 195 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Source: NFL.com Attached Thumbnails
Saints Nation: Offensive Player Grades @ Giants
The Saints ran the ball very well, enjoyed a solid performance from their offensive line, and yet four turnovers will be the biggest takeaway (no pun intended) from this game. While the 27 points they put up were nice, shooting themselves in the foot with costly mistakes never really gave the team a chance to win the game. This unit has spiraled out of control the last three weeks...
Saints RB Chris Ivory Among Inactives Vs Giants
Saints running back Chris Ivory was indeed among the team's seven inactives for today's game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
Ivory joined offensive tackle Charles Brown, cornerback Corey White, linebacker Scott Shanle, defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker, tight end Michael Higgins and defensive end Turk McBride on the list of players who are not active today...
New Orleans Saints at New York Giants point spread, line and odds
The New Orleans Saints (5-7) hit the road on Sunday to play at the New York Giants (7-5). Scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. EST kickoff this game will air as the Fox late game in most locations.
After a mid-season streak of wins the Saints are coming off of back-to-back losses against San Francisco and Atlanta. The Saints still have not figured it out on defense allowing 27 points per game...
Saints Nation: Defensive and Special Teams Player Grades @ Giants
Special teams is much tougher to grade than defense because a lot of times mistakes are hard to pin point. But in theory, the entire unit deserves an F for how they covered kickoffs. That was a joke and David Wilson pretty much won this game on his own. It was also an up and down performance by the defense, which looked ok at times and seemed to revert back to early season form at...
Saints Coach Joe Vitt Says Loss To Giants 'An Embarrassment'
If the goal was the playoffs -- and it always was -- this year's New Orleans Saints are done.
Their 52-27 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday ended any realistic visions of squeaking into the postseason.
"That was an embarrassment today," Saints interim coach Joe Vitt told The Star-Ledger after the game. "... Here's the key, we can't have four turnovers...
Paul Tagliabue's Bounty Ruling Coming Tuesday
Former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will rule on the New Orleans Saints bounty appeals Tuesday afternoon, sources said Monday afternoon. But the ruling may not bring any sort of finality to the protracted case.
A source told The Associated Press that any possible punishments levied by Tagliabue would be delayed a week to give the U.S. District Court in New Orleans a chance...
Players Reject Settlement Offer In Saints Bounty Case
Players sources say they rejected a settlement offer in the New Orleans Saints bounty case Friday because it required some acknowledgement of culpability, ESPN reports.
Former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, who was appointed to hear the appeal, is expected to reach his decision by Tuesday, according to league sources.
The players involved -- Jonathan Vilma, Will Smith, Scott...
Five Keys for the Giants to Defeat the New Orleans Saints
Here they are again, another December crossroads for the New York Giants. After a great win against the Green Bay Packers, the Champs seemed on their way to a possible second seed. Here’s the thing though, that is not how this era of Giants football does it.
They torture the fans and give them good drama from now till February. After last Monday, they will have to kick off this...
Preview: Giants vs Saints
If you like offense then you should be in for a treat this Sunday as the Giants host the New Orleans Saints at 4:25pm eastern time at Metlife Stadium. We will see two of the top quarterbacks in the NFL as Eli Manning comes into the game ranked ninth in the league in passing yards per game (264) while Brees ranks second in the same category at 306.
This does not bode well for either...
