New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints have trimmed 22 players from their active roster, with veteran kicker John Kasay and veteran receiver Greg Camarillo among those let go.
The Saints also have placed four players on injured reserve, including cornerback Marquis Johnson and rookie receiver Nick Toon.
Meanwhile, undrafted rookie running back Travaris Cadet remains on the team after a strong preseason.
The players waived by New Orleans include tight end Michael Higgins, center Matt Tennant, quarterback Sean Canfield, safety Jerico Nelson and linebacker Lawrence Wilson.
Meanwhile, defensive end Will Smith has been placed on the suspended list because of his four-game punishment in the NFL's bounty investigation.
New Orleans could bring back some of the younger players it has cut for the practice squad on Saturday if they've cleared waivers.
