He missed his third straight practice Friday, the team's final workout before the playoff contest. Thomas suffered the injury in the Saints' 42-17 regular season finale victory against the Tampa Bay Bucs on Sunday. Saints coach Sean Payton wouldn't elaborate on Thomas' status or availability for the game Saturday. But he said the Saints are deep at the running back spot. "We kept five this year, which is unusual,'' Payton said. "We felt those five guys were really important to what we do. Each one of those guys has a different skill set. The versatility is important. That's one of the strengths of Pierre, his versatility both in the passing game and the running game and with regards to protections.'' Saints safety Rafael Bush (ankle), who went full speed Friday, ...

Two Saints voted to All-Pro team in 2013

The New Orleans Saints rebounded from a dismal 2012, achieving a wild card playoff spot in 2013. Sean Payton was back on the sideline, helping his team steady the ship, improve the defense and regain their homefield advantage in the SuperDome. That said, Payton was able to gameplan having two All-Pro players on the offensive side of the ball. Jimmy Graham and guard Jahari Evans were...

Saints' Sean Payton Sees High Ceiling For Kelly, Foles

Sean Payton's road map to success for the Saints could be a model for Chip Kelly, Eagles.  Sean Payton knows a thing or two about developing quarterbacks and dynamic offenses. Payton's aerial attack has set NFL records in recent years thanks in large part to the play of Drew Brees who reached his Hall of Fame potential after showing plenty of upside as a member of the San...

Priority Number One: Slow Down Tight End Jimmy Graham

As Saturday night inches closer and closer, there’s been a lot of discussion about various match-ups the Eagles will face against the Saints. We all the know the Saints play much better at home, but their 3-5 road record this year isn’t something that can be taken lightly. Come Saturday, there’s one player that peaks my attention. That player is tight end Jimmy Graham. At 6...

Fascinating individual matchup in Saints vs. Eagles Saturday night... Kendricks vs. Jimmy Graham..

I sat out on my deck alone tonight (Friday morning, 1/3/14) to get a feel for the weather conditions the Saints and the Eagles will be dealing with in a night game at the Linc that kicks off at 8:30 P.M. EST on Saturday.... Man, it is cold and wet... I guess the wind-chill factor will put game time temperature at something close to 10 degrees F. as the current Nor'easter...

Keys to Wild Card Victory: New Orleans at Philadelphia

I nearly fainted when I saw this (trust me, it’s not scary). Via ESPN, the Eagles are favored to dispose the New Orleans Saints on Saturday night. Two and a half men points, is what the City of Brotherly Love is feeding their visitors, an under-dog’s treat. I’m scratching my head in disbelief, though. #WhatDoesVegasSee that I (and you), don’t?Where do you stand? Despite...
