New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The New Orleans Saints have scratched reserve defensive lineman Tom Johnson and reserve safety Isa Abdul-Quddus for Sunday's regular-season finale against Tampa Bay.
The Buccaneers have deactivated safety Mark Barron, as well as linebackers Dekoda Watson and Ka'Lial Glaud, all listed as questionable on Friday. Barron had a hamstring injury, while Watson had a groin strain and Glaud a knee injury.
Other than reserve linebacker Keyunta Dawson, who had a sore calf, all players deactivated by New Orleans are healthy. Others scratched included running back Travaris Cadet, receiver Nick Toon and recently signed cornerback Terrence Frederick.
Buccaneers inactives included former Saints left guard Carl Nicks, who'd already been ruled out with a foot injury, along with fullback Ronnie Pryor and recently signed defensive lineman Scott Solomon

A few weeks ago, Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan hit up a New Orleans bar after a home win. Ryan did the same on Sunday night. Rob Ryan changed up the post game celebration. While many believe that Peyton Manning or Tom Brady are the best quarterbacks in the league, I want to know where Drew Brees ranks in this discussion. Drew Brees has all the cards stacked against him, but he somehow continues to get the job done. This year when passing the ball over 15 yards, Brees […]
As Drew Brees walked off the Superdome field, he held his helmet up in celebration of the Saints' fourth playoff berth in five years.
Then he hit the showers and started thinking about the week of practice ahead.
''Our expectation was to come here and play well and win, and we did that,'' Brees said after New Orleans' 42-17 demolition of struggling Tampa...
Mike Triplett of ESPN.com writes that New Orleans Saints SS Roman Harper could end up being a cap casualty once the season is over.
New Orleans is expected to be nearly $17 million over the cap next season, which will bring guys like Harper and the over $3 million salary and bonuses into focus.
According to Overthecap.com, the Saints could free up $2.18 million in cap space by...
The New Orleans Saints enjoyed a rebound in 2013 over their wasted 2012 campaign. After fielding one of the worst defenses last season, the addition of defensive coordinator Rob Ryan helped turn the Saints defense around this season, making them a formidable unit. The Saints have struggled away from the confines of their home dome, and they enter Week 17 hoping to secure at least...
Every team has pre game rituals or superstitions. You also always have a team meal. I have never heard of a team thinking that having Popeyes was the answer to their problems though, until now. The New Orleans Saints players seem to think that having Popeyes before road games in the answer their problems per The Shreveport Times:
“Coach has got to give us Popeyes in the plane...
The New Orleans Saints needed the Carolina Panthers to lose in order to take the division title. Well--that didn't happen, but that doesn't mean the team shouldn't make a statement to end the regular season anyway. After one half of play it is safe to say they have done just that with four touchdown passes by Drew Brees to give the Saints a 28-14 advantage at the half...
Drew Brees passed for four touchdowns and ran for another score, and New Orleans clinched a wild card spot with a 42-17 victory over Tampa Bay on Sunday.
Three of Brees' scoring strikes were longer than 40 yards -- 76 to Kenny Stills, 44 to Lance Moore and 41 to Robert Meachem. Brees passed for 381 yards, eclipsing 5,000 yards in a season for an unprecedented fourth time. He...
Well this is it guys, the regular season comes to a close today and there's a chance we will be done with Saints football for the year. Actually it's definitely done for 2013 either way, but I'd like to see some action in January 2014 too. The good news is we can keep the party going a little while longer if they just win, at home, against a bad team that's only won...
The first weekend of the NFL playoffs is set, and one of the matchups which promises to be among the most anticipated of the initial weekend features the New Orleans Saints squaring off in a road battle with the Philadelphia Eagles. It is a matchup involving two teams each harboring aspirations of a potential run to the Super Bowl. Perhaps one of the factors surrounding this looming...
It sounds crazy to call Cam Newton’s Week 18 performance against the NFC South division rival New Orleans Saints ‘masterful’, but that’s just what it was despite the Panthers’ signal-caller going just 13-for-21 for 181 yards with one touchdown and one pick.Newton was as ‘clutch’ as it gets down the stretch against the Saints, leading Carolina on a 65-yard game-winning...

We all knew it was coming.
An unbelievable year for Peyton Manning keeps getting better as he just broke yet another NFL Record. This time for most passing yards in a season. A record set by Saints quarterback Drew Brees in 2011 with 5,476 yards.
Manning passed the milestone with a five-yard grab from Demariyus Thomas for a Touchdown. He needed...
Home Field Advantage Is A Real Thing. Not that we didn't know this already, but the Saints continue to show that when they play at home they are nearly unbeatable. Which is why it's unfortunate for Saints fans that they won't be playing at home at all during the playoffs. Drew Brees and company can carve up any defense when they are playing in the dome, but when they...
On Sunday the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will see their season end when they face off against the New Orleans Saints in Week 17.
The Buccaneers (4-11) could prevent the Saints (10-5) from going to the playoffs if they pull off an upset here. Of course that would also require Arizona to defeat San Francisco.
Coverage of the game between the Buccaneers and Saints will air on FOX beginning...
Before the boys get to the Eagles game, Dave vents one last time against the Falcons.
Dave argues the Saints have won a road playoff game. The rest of the crew disagrees. Ralph makes the point weather hasn't hurt the Saints in the playoffs.
Do the Eagles have the right personnel to slow down the Saints offense? The guys go over the season's biggest surprises...
