And so it begins.  The San Francisco 49ers start their season at home against the Green Bay Packers in a rematch of last years divisional playoff game where Colin Kaepernick ran for 181 yards in a 45-31 victory. With a brand new season and the Superbowl loss still in mind the 49ers will try compete for a championship once more now that Kaepernick is undoubtedly the main man.  The injury to Michael Crabtree has left the 49er receiver group filled with young and unproven receivers and although the  acquisition of Anquan Boldin will help, somebody like Kyle Williams or rookie Quinton Patton will have to step up.  On defense, the 49ers are a formidable as ever.  First round pick Eric Reid has tough task filling the void that all-pro safety Dashon Goldson left but the four studs at linebacker will make it a bit easier for him to get acclimated to the league. The Packers have had their eye on this game since the schedule came out it looks like.  The coaching staff event went as far as going to Texas A&M to study the read-option offense.  It will be important for Clay Matthews and company to contain the pocket and stay committed to your assignment, whether it’d be to get the running back or the quarterback, they must stay committed and second guessing themselves.  The Packers also improved their defense in the offseason by improving their running attack.  The additions of Eddie Lacy and Jonathan Franklin through the draft should bolsters their ability to run the football and take the pressure of their quarterback.  Speaking of which, that’s where the Packers success begins and ends.  Aaron Rodgers still has the ability to put up points in bunches.  Even though, they lost Greg Jennings they still have three solid receivers that coupled with Rodgers become an instant scoring threat. Even though the Packers may have a better grasp for the read-option, the 49ers at their core are still a bruising running team and that’s where the game will be decided.  Look for Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter to have big games on the ground against a defense that will be so preoccupied with Keapernick that it will take their focus of the other playmakers on the team. Niners Win 34-21
