As we’ve all learned from listening to his analysis on NFL Network or Showtime (who just gave him the boot), Warren Sapp is not afraid to speak his mind. Apparently, he’s not afraid to put down his colorful opinions in writing, either. The Tampa Bay Times got a hold of Sapp’s new book, “Sapp Attack,” in which he takes shots at former defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and ex-teammate Trent Dilfer. Below are a few passages from the book. “I always believed Kiffin (blitzed) so much because he wanted the glory; it made him feel like a great defensive coordinator.” “Dilfer … basically was an interception waiting to happen. There were times we practically pleaded with him, ‘We know you’re not going to score a touchdown, but please, just don’t turn it over.’ “ However, Sapp had nothing but nice things to say about Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden, whom in their own ways helped the defensive tackle win his first and only Super Bowl. ”I always said that Tony Dungy put the damn cake in the oven, and then Jon Gruden came in and put the icing on it. Of course, Sam Wyche couldn’t even get the mix out of the box,” Sapp said.
