Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson collided helmet-to-helmet with linebacker Philip Wheeler today at training camp practice on a pass route over the middle. Goodson was carted off the field and taken by ambulance to the hospital. After a few hours of worry, the team announced Goodson was released and back at Raiders’ headquarters in Napa, California.
“The Raiders received encouraging news Tuesday night from doctors treating Mike Goodson, who left the practice field with a neck injury, with movement in his extremities, during the team’s training-camp practice. Goodson’s CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test were negative. He has returned to the team’s training-camp headquarters at the Napa Valley Marriott.”
Goodson has been having a nice training camp for the Raiders, who traded for him this offseason. After his negative MRI, Goodson saw a welcome sight and tweeted:
