ST. LOUIS Brian Schottenheimer was hired to heal. The new St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator will be asked to do many things to repair one of the NFLs worst units last season, but mainly, his job is to make his franchises greatest weakness become a strength. With that task, hes eager to revive his career in the Gateway City. Its shown in moments like Thursday afternoon, when the former New York Jets coordinator stands near a practice field at Rams Park as players scatter after minicamp. Hes speaking about progress since he was hired in January as Sam Bradfords third coordinator in as many years. He says about 90 percent of his West Coast-like system has been installed and that mentoring a quarterback with elite potential excites him.
