The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have activated tight end Cameron Morrah from the physically unable to perform list. A 2009 seventh-round pick out of Cal, Morrah caught nine passes for 117 yards in 15 games in 2010, but opened this season on the PUP list due to a toe injury. With Zach Miller ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, Morrah is expected to be active as the No. 2 tight end behind Anthony McCoy. The Seahawks have also signed safety Chris Maragos off the practice squad. Originally signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Wisconsin, Maragos had a pair of special teams tackles in three games with the 49ers last season.

Seahawks Down to Their Last Tight End

According to the team's injury report, TE Zach Miller has been ruled out after missing practice all week with a "Neck/Head" injury.  It's hard to know exactly what the problem is, given the vagueness of the description in the report, but Miller's had two weeks to heal up and he still isn't right.  That's not good. Miller being sidelined also means...

Defensive end Red Bryant leads by example after disappointing defeat

He took responsibility for the late penalty that led to his ejection. That kind of accountability makes an impression, especially after a game like Sunday's in which the Seahawks could have complained they got the business end of the officiating stick.

Game in review: Browns 6, Seahawks 9

Players of the game Seahawks defensive tackle Red Bryant had three solo tackles, half a sack and he became the first player in franchise history to block two field goals in a single game before being ejected in the fourth quarter of Seattle's loss. Cleveland kicker Phil Dawson made two field goals, each from 53 yards, and those two kicks made him Man of the Match in a football...

Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson To Test His Strained Pectoral In Morning Warmups

The Seahawks have gone 26 games without a 100-yard rusher, but they will need Marshawn Lynch to give them a big day, considering Charlie Whitehurst is making only his third start at quarterback. Lynch has touchdowns in his last two games. John Czarnecki of FOX Sports reports that Tarvaris Jackson is going to test his pectoral strain in morning warm-ups to see if he can serve as the...

Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson Doubtful, TE Zach Miller Out For Sunday

Charlie Whitehurst is expected to get the start at quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks in Cleveland on Sunday. Tarvaris Jackson is doubtful after suffering a high grade strain of his right pectoral in the Seahawks’ 36-25 win over the New York Giants two weeks ago. He was unable to practice during the team’s bye week and has been limited in practice this week. “We’ve prepared...

GameDay: Seahawks at Browns

Seahawks GameDay ChatSeahawks at Cleveland BrownsSUNDAY, OCT. 23Cleveland Browns Stadium Seattle Times pick: Browns 19, Seahawks 13.Maybe Seattle really did turn the corner in Week 5 at New York. Perhaps this offense that managed just one first-half touchdown in the first four games combined is ready to keep humming even with the questions at quarterback. Maybe, but I'm suspicious...

Seahawks DE Red Bryant Accuses Browns TE Alex Smith Of Cheap Shots

Seattle's Red Bryant, who got ejected late in the game after a costly headbutt of Browns tight end Alex Smith, accused Smith of cheapshotting him during the game. "He was talking the whole game,'' said Bryant. "He was taking cheapshots at me. That's what guys do when they can't block you. He did a great job of getting in my head. I should have been smarter...

Seahawks backup QB's prime chance

Sunday in Cleveland just might be the best opportunity for Charlie Whitehurst to show that he's a viable, desirable starting quarterback in the NFL.

Morning links: Run-stuffing Hawks

Folks nationally are starting to understand something regular observers of the Seattle Seahawks already know – this defense plays stout against the run. Matt Williamson of Scout Inc. is the latest to take note of the fact in his weekly scouting preview of Sunday’s Seattle-Cleveland game. Williamson notes that both Seattle defensive tackles Brandon Mebane and Alan Branch are playing...
