Found June 14, 2013 on Minus Twenty-Two:
Jim Harbaugh made quite the ruckus in Seattle this week when on Tuesday he offered some frank comments about the rash of drug suspensions the Seahawks have been accumulating over the last couple seasons. The Seahawks have seen six players fail drug tests since December 2011, including Harbaugh’s former pupil at Stanford Richard Sherman. Adderall seems to be the most popular drug of choice in the Seattle locker room (even though we all know that’s more than likely just a convenient excuse to cover up more illicit substances, like weed, ‘roids and yadda yadda yada, which we’ll never know for sure because the NFL doesn’t disclose these things). Anyway, via the Sac Bee, here are the comments Harbaugh made about PEDs on Tuesday that widened the gap between him and whoever is in second place on Seattle’s least favorite human beings list: “It has no place in an athlete’s body,” Harbaugh said. “Play by the rules, and you always want to be above reproach, especially when you’re good. Because...

49ers: Colin Kaepernick has improved in ‘everything’

San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman says quarterback Colin Kaepernick has improved his entire game and looks ready to lead the team as the opening day stater for the first time in his career. “I’d just say everything,” Roman said, via 49ers.com. “His

Seattle Seahawks and the evolution of the point guard quarterback

Magic Johnson, Chris Paul, Rajon Rondo, Russell Wilson? Cross-sport comparisons are usually inaccurate and don’t hold much value, but it is very interesting to look at the new breed of quarterback coming through the college ranks. It is a term I refer to as the “point guard quarterback”. They are smart, quick, accurate, and can trick a linebacker or safety with deadly ball...

Colin Kaepernick's shoe collection is ridiculous

You think Colin Kaepernick has enough shoes? The San Francisco 49ers star quarterback shared these photos of his sneaker collection on Instagram Thursday and, as you can see, his collection is pretty extensive. Based on what he shared in the photos, a rough estimate says he has about 100 pairs of shoes. Kaep has a [...]

How Much Will The Seattle Seahawks Get From Their Draft Picks?

With the entire Seattle Seahawks’ 11-man draft class now under contract, we turn our attention toward the impact the 2013 rookie class will have on Seattle’s chances in the coming season. Offseason depth charts aren’t worth the zeros and ones they’re made of, but they can give us a little insight into the conventional wisdom of where players rank on the team. As of this...

49ers DT Justin Smith says he’s ‘almost 100%’ from triceps injury

San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Justin Smith says he’s coming along good after having surgery on his triceps. He hasn’t been able to participate in full football activities, but after the torn triceps injury that limited him at the end of 2012, he has started putting his rehab behind him. He says he’s still not 100 percent and the expectation is Smith will hit that...

49ers RB Frank Gore inspired by critics

Frank Gore doesn't see turning 30 as a bad thing, even if it's the age when most NFL running backs start to decline. If anything, the San Francisco 49ers' career rushing leader has embraced the milestone and sees it as another means of motivation. Not that Gore has ever needed extra incentive. Whether it was being bypassed in the 2005 draft when he was the sixth running...

Fantasy Football Rookie Report: 49ers WR Quinton Patton

When I wrote about Quinton Patton prior to the NFL Draft, I cited the fact the 1985 was much like the 2013 Draft. There were plenty of decent receivers, but none that stood out as "must have" talent.Amongst those players was some guy named Jerry Rice. I also stated that I didn't think Patton would immediately become the greatest receiver in NFL history. But being on the...

Rookies fitting in on Seahawks defensive line

(Eds: Adds details, quotes. With AP Photos.) By CURTIS CRABTREE Associated Press Seattle's secondary was already one of the league's best and the Seahawks had signed free agents Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett to help bolster the defensive end position. That left defensive tackle as one of the few positions of need for the Seahawks defense entering the NFL draft in April...

Pete Carroll Is Just A Man With Questions

Via Deadspin comes the story of Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and his meeting last spring with retired U.S. general and Seattle native Peter Chiarelli, who was wrapping up his run as the Army’s vice chief of staff. According to the ‘spin, the two rapped about everything that you’d expect between a longtime 12th Man and the coach of the team, and I’m willing to bet they...

Colin Kaepernick Seems To Like Collecting Shoes

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took to Instagram to show off his decently large shoe collection, and we are glad he did.  As you can see from the below images the young man likes his shoes.  Word is that he has somewhere around 100 pairs, and there is no way he doesn’t grow that number in the next few years.  Colin also does need to step up his game if he wants to catch...
