Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has a lot of talent on his young defense, but the secondary is the unit most people think of first. The Pro Bowl laden secondary may be the premier group, however, the linebackers and in particular Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright are starting to make a name for themselves. They are the defense’s top tacklers from the 2012 season and both have had an outstanding offseason. Quinn talks about Wagner’s and Wright’s offseason and how they have worked hard to get better. “The guy who’s had a really good offseason is Wagner in terms of the approach and that kind of stuff,” Quinn said, via Clare Farnsworth of Seahawkks.com. “One of the things that kind of fires you up about a guy like him is his approach, like, ‘OK, what are some things I need to do better?’ He’s totally trying to get his game to a spot that he aspires to go to, which is a cool thing.” “You don’t realize how long K.J. is until you stand next to him,” Quinn said. “Then you’re like, ‘Wow, that’s one big dude.’ So Bobby and K.J. have totally impressed me.” “The developmental part is OK from the young guys who haven’t played a lot,” Quinn said. “But of those players, who’s going to step up and grab it? That, to me, is one of the really cool questions going into (training) camp. Wagner adds: “That’s why you play this game at this level, isn’t it?” Wagner asked, shrugging his shoulders and smiling.
