Looks like the Seattle Seahawks will not get to see DT Greg Scruggs' progress into his second year in the NFL. Scruggs underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn ACL in his right knee that he suffered the injury prior to the NFL draft, but waited until Thursday to have the procedure done. The surgery will likely keep him out for the entire 2013 season, reports the Seattle Times. Scruggs, selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft, worked his way into the rotation and was set to see some ample playing time going forward. He played in 11 games last year, recording 11 tackles and 2 sacks. Seattle's defensive line additions in the offseason helps soften the blow. Jayson Jenks writes: ' The Seahawks' defensive line quickly became a crowded place this offseason after the additions of free agents Cliff Avril, Tony McDaniel and Michael Bennett, and the Seahawks drafted Jordan Hill (third round) and Jesse Williams (fifth round) in April. Seattle also returns stalwarts Red Bryant, Bruce Irvin, Brandon Mebane and Chris Clemons, who is recovering from an ACL injury suffered in the playoffs. '
