Share: Charlie Whitehurst didn't play well on Sunday, but is it too early to give up on him as a viable option as the team's starting quarterback? (AP Photo) After Sunday’s 6-3 loss to the Browns, Tarvaris Jackson’s popularity in Seattle may be at an all-time high. That’s not saying much, of course. But the way Charlie Whitehurst played in place of the injured Jackson may have made coach Pete Carroll’s decision to go with Jackson as the starter this year just a little bit clearer. Whitehurst was mostly awful, completing just 12 of 30 passes for 97 yards and an interception while leading an offense that was entirely inept for four quarters. It was a far cry from his effective relief outing two weeks ago against the Giants, when he completed 11 of 19 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown.
