A sportsbook review of the Seattle Seahawks’ camp so far may focus on the battle at quarterback, where Matt Flynn, Tarvaris Jackson and rookie Russell Wilson are reportedly all still in contention to start as they get ready for the preseason. Whichever quarterback manages to win the battle should have a potentially dangerous group of receivers to work with.

Sidney Rice is the most talented receiver in Seattle and sports betting players will remember him from an explosive time in Minnesota, when he was a favorite target of Brett Favre, but Rice has since struggled with injuries and has played just 15 games in the last two seasons, including nine last season. Rice may not even play in the preseason as he had concussion and shoulder problems and the Seahawks want him to be as healthy as possible for the regular season.

The Seahawks also brought in a couple of names that may be familiar to sport betting players as Braylon Edwards has been given a chance to spark his career again, and Kellen Winslow will split time with Zach Miller at tight end. Edwards played just nine games with San Francisco before the two went their separate ways, and when he is on, Edwards can be electrifying, even if he has had issues with drops in the past. As for Winslow, he has been bothered by his knees for years now, but he can still be effective over the middle for the Seahawks and along with Miller, Seattle could have quite a duo at tight end. They also brought in Antonio Bryant, but he was expectedly out of shape after being out of the game since 2009.

NCAA football betting (find more NCAA football betting odds here) fans will remember that Golden Tate was highly touted coming out of Notre Dame and in his third season in the NFL, he is expected to take a big leap in his development, and right now he is being penciled in as the No.2 receiver. Tate had to miss OTAs because of a broken hand, but he is fully healthy and ready to put his stamp on the team. The Seahawks need him to step because while Doug Baldwin (who should start in the slot if the Seahawks go to a three-receiver set fulltime) and Ben Obomanu are solid slot-receiver types, they’re out of their element at starters in a normal set and Tate has too much talent to not be a starter in the NFL.

There are a lot of ifs surrounding the Seattle receivers, with health and general inconsistency as the main issues, but if they can manage to pull it together, the Seahawk receivers could have a real effect on their team’s NFL betting odds.
