today the Seattle Times writer for the Seattle Seahawks we've learned the Seahawks have CUT rookie UDFA kicer Carson Wiggs today to maker room for Kris O'Dowd.
Seattle obviously were in need of some more depth at center with John Moffitt (Elbow) and Lemuel Jeanpierre (Groin) injured.
The former USC center who went undrafted in 2011. (He was considered the 3rd best Center prospect that year)
At USC in his sophomore year he was named to the 2008 First Team All-Pac 10.
Kris O'Dowd was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent in 2011.
The New York Jets signed O'Dowd on March 13, 2012. He was waived on May 6, 2012.

The Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll have done everything but be predictable and the quarterback battle is no different. In 2010, the Seahawks not only made the playoffs at 7-9, but stunned the defending champion New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round. Then they drafted Alabama offensive lineman James Carpenter in the first round [...]
The Seattle Seahawks decided this past offseason that they had a wide receiving corps that was not exactly up to the standards of the rest of the National Football League. Not even if the watered down NFC West. Seattle went forward and cut Mike Williams, who had been one of their better receivers a couple of seasons ago. That left them with Ben Obomanu and Deon Butler atop the team’s...
The Seattle Seahawks are likely looking to trade quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, as Matt Flynn is cementing himself as the team’s starter, and while Russell Wilson appears more than capable of handling the back up role. So while the Seahawks are more than willing to move Jackson before the next week or so, the question remains, what team would actually want Jackson at this point...
ESPN Radio 710 in Seattle reports Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch seems to have gained an extra burst of speed after arriving at camp with a slimmer physique than in past seasons.Fantasy Spin:At his heaviest Lynch was around 225 pounds, which is 10 pounds heavier than he is listed at right now. The added quickness will be beneficial to Lynch when he finds an opening but having...
Terrell Owens says he is ''no longer'' a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
The 38-year-old wide receiver posted the news on his Twitter account.
''I'm no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I'm truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver.''
Owens signed a one-year deal with Seattle earlier...
Braylon Edwards has always been a talented receiver and as such he’s proven himself to be an enigma so far in the NFL.
He’s made huge plays and saw his career jump off to a great start yet after leaving Cleveland he sputtered out in both New York with the Jets and in San Francisco.
Now, it looks like he’s ready to go for his and he appears to be on the verge of his long-awaited...
The Raiders signed former UCLA linebacker Korey Bosworth, the nephew of former Seattle Seahawks on Oklahoma linebacker Brian Bosworth. Korey Bosworth signed with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and spent training camp with the Lions in 2010, '11 and '12. He played in the Lions' preseason opener last week.
And Then There Were Six…
The quarterback competition was the battle to watch going into Seahawks training camp. Or so we thought. We should be so naive to think my boy Pete Carroll didn’t have a trick or two up his sleeve.
The signings of Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens.
The initial assumption of these signings was that they were desperate moves on Carroll’s part to add...
Today there are 13 days left until kickoff.
13 is the record for receiving touchowns in a season. Sidney Rice set the record in 2005. Like the single season rushing TD record, this record was set during a freshman season. Rice redshirted the 2004 season and was excellent in 2005. He had another stellar year in 2006 and moved on to the NFL. He currently plays for the Seattle...
Seahawks Broncos Storylines
Games against the old division rivals of the AFC West are always a lot of fun, preseason or not.
For the most part, I still harbor hatred for the teams that the Seahawks left behind when they rejoined the NFC for the 2002 season.
Though it has been a decade since the realignment, the lack of competition in the NFC West has left an empty feeling inside...
While Matt Flynn sits in front of him, the wait for Russell Wilson may not be long`
1.) Russell Wilson Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks
“He is too short to be an NFL Quarterback”, “He can’t see over his Offensive Line” these are just some of the things Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson heard from NFL scouts heading into the 2012 NFL Draft. Wilson has all the...
The great thing about the NFL is that there are so many positions that every year, there is almost always at least one player who has a breakout year on every team, no matter how good or bad the team is. This is one part in a 32 part segment detailing one potential breakout player for the 2012 NFL season on each NFL team. For the Seattle Seahawks, that player is quarterback Matt...
If you thought Miami, New Orleans, Dallas, and the New York Jets had a lot of drama surrounding their teams coming into the 2012 NFL season, you should take a look at the storms brewing in Seattle.
Only a season removed from stumbling into the playoffs and knocking out the Saints in the first round, high expectations are being placed on a young Seattle team.
Head coach Pete Carroll...
