Found July 23, 2013 on BlackSportsOnline:
Assuming you are a competitor, you would always want to start and not sit on the bench. At some point the reality hits you that you will never be a full time starter again and at that point, especially in the NFL you start thinking about life after football and collecting as much money as you can. Eight years into his career Tarvaris Jackson has come to that realization. “I found out the hard way, it’s a business,” he said. “It had always been football first for me, but now it’s kind of shown me the business part of the NFL. That’s what I signed up for, so I can’t really complain. I just have to do my job, collect my check and keep this going the best I can.” The fact he has lasted eight years should be considered a success, most players don’t. If he wins the back up job (he is competing against Brady Quinn), he will probably have a few more years to keep collecting that check.

2013 NFL Fantasy Football: Updated Team Defense Rankings

With the start of 2013 NFL training camps getting underway, let’s take an early look at the fantasy football landscape—ranking the Top 15 defenses in the game. 1. Seattle Seahawks: Seattle finished fourth in the NFL with 306.2 yards per game allowed and led the league in scoring defense, yielding just 15.3 points per game in 2012.  Adding Antoine Winfield’s veteran presence...

Russell Wilson claims the Seahawks don’t run the read-option that much

Peter King of The MMQB caught up with Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. King brought up the fact that opposing defenses will know the read-option is coming. “I think the main thing for us in Seattle is that we’re not really running the read-option that much.  We may look like it, but we’re not really running it that much.  Best thing for us that it causes problems for...

*My* Seahawks worst case scenario in 2013

Man Down I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the Seattle Seahawks are in for one heck of a year. Predicted to finish first or second in the NFC West and be one of the frontrunners for the Super Bowl this year, many believe the Seahawks have what it takes to bring glory to the Emerald City. And with Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch, Earl Thomas, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice...

Russell Wilson, year 2: The separation is in the preparation

Championship Offseason What makes Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson so great is not natural athletic ability. It’s neither his accurate arm nor swivel hips.  In fact, by pure physical standards, Wilson may not even be in the top half of QBs in the league. He does not have the arm strength of a Colin Kaepernick, or the wheels of a healthy Robert Griffin III. However, what separates...

Seahawks running backs 2013 stat line projections

Beastmode et al With training camp less than a week away, and the Seattle Seahawks roster all but final (in my humble opinion – save for a few role players and fringe special teams guys bound to get cut) the time for dough-eyed stats predictions is nigh upon us; be it for use in fantasy football leagues or elsewhere. As such, I’d be remiss of my duties if I didn’t prepare...

Seattle set to open camp amid major hype

Pete Carroll is used to the glare. It was part of the deal coaching at USC. When his Seattle Seahawks begin training camp this week, they'll feel the glare of a spotlight that's never shined through the clouds this bright in the Pacific Northwest. They aren't just plucky upstarts with little regard on a national scale. These Seahawks begin camp knowing they are a popular...

Top 15 Fantasy Running Back Monographs! Marshawn Lynch

Top 15 Fantasy Running Back Monographs! Monograph – A highly detailed and thoroughly documented study or paper written about a limited area of a subject or field of inquiry. 3. Seahawks - Marshawn Lynch, Sea (12) is a easy choice at No.3 for multiple reasons. In 2012, Lynch had 315 carries for 1,590 yards and 11 touchdowns and 23 receptions for 196 yards and a touchdown. He had...

2013 Fantasy Football: Do Running Quarterbacks Help Running Backs?

Marshawn LynchSource: Jeff Gross/Getty Images North America Prior to last season Marshawn Lynch had averaged just under four yards per carry for his career, but last year he averaged over five yards per carry. Such a large shift absolutely baffled me. In my search for an answer, my first hypothesis was that Lynch improved thanks to better offensive line play in Seattle. And it turned...

Robert Turbin To Inherit Third-Down Role For Seahawks

Seattle second-year back Robert Turbin is expected to take over third-down receiving duties (from Leon Washington who is now in New England) along with his backup rushing duties behind Marshawn Lynch, according to a Tacoma News Tribune report.Fantasy Spin:Turbin is a good late-draft gamble for those who select Lynch in the first round. It will also be good insurance should Lynch...

To my fellow 12′s…Dust off the gear, it’s time for football

One More Day Fans of the Seattle Seahawks, it’s almost that time of year again. Our months of debating, writing, analyzing, cringing, wishing, hoping, contemplating, dreaming, and waiting for the 2013-2014 season to begin will soon be over. For, as many of you already know, training camp begins tomorrow. The annual event that gives fans and teams their first opportunity to flash...

Seahawks’ owner Paul Allen tweeted out the news on Tuesday noting there are a limited number of wheelchair only spots and some tickets to the two preseason games. All @Seahawks reg season hm games now completely sold out excpt...

Jaguars claim S Polk off waivers from Seahawks

The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced they've claimed undrafted rookie safety Ray Polk off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks. The move Wednesday leaves the Jaguars roster at 90 players. The 6-foot, 219-pound Polk played in 40 games at Colorado and recorded 237 tackles, three tackles for loss and one interception. His most productive season came as a junior in 2011 when he...

Seattle Seahawks Fans are Excited for the Season to Start (shocker, right?)

It's been sometime since the Seattle Seahawks have been a playoff caliber team (2007?). With the addition of Marshawn Lynch in 2010 the turnaround began culminating in their first playoff bid since '07 that year. Fast forward tow years and add in one of the most dynamic talents in the NFL at quarterback and the 12th Man is hyped up  and ready for a  big year. So...

Jets 'Bring Braylon Back' for a Physical Today

Yes, the fan-favorite WR may be making a return to Gang Green, after all. Reports are out today, from several sources, that the receiver is being checked out by Jets staff.  Last season, Braylon returned to the Jets after being waived by the Seattle Seahawks for an apparent hamstring injury. As he is aging, it'll be important to make sure Braylon is healthy enough to perform...
