Some people will disagree with me on this article and that is fine.  It’s an opinion piece and yes the Seahawks are my favorite team, but I still believe that they are one of the top 5 teams in the NFL this season. Yes, they lost Percy Harvin.  In an earlier article I said that the trade was a risky one do to Percy Harvin’s injury issues.  Say what you want about what Harvin could bring to the Seahawks if he was on the field.  But, we all know what happened last year for Seattle when he wasn’t even on the team. Look for Seattle to contend for the NFC West title and home field advantage in the NFC playoffs.  This team if finally for real and everyone else is taking notice.Week 1: at Carolina Panthers – W – 30-14The Seahawks won 16-12 in Charlotte last season.  That was before Russell Wilson and the offense were clicking.Week 2: San Francisco 49ers (SNF) – W – 35-17The Seahawks beat the 49ers 42-13 last year also on Sunday Night Football, avenging a 13-6 loss earlier in the season at ...

Seattle Seahawks: Player Most Likely To Break Out In 2013

Enter Golden Tate.At age 25, the 5-10, fourth-year wide receiver looks to be taking the opportunity to make some noise in the Seattle lineup. Through three seasons the Seahawks...

Avril returns to practice for Seahawks

First slowed by foot problems during offseason workouts, and then a hamstring, Cliff Avril was just happy to be feeling well enough to get on the field for a short time. Seattle's big free agent signing along the defensive line was back on the practice field Wednesday for the first time. Avril only participated in individual drills, but coach Pete Carroll was hopeful Avril might...

Seattle Seahawks Secondary Poised For Special Season

Seattle's Earl Thomas makes Seahawks defense work

(Eds: Adds details, quotes. With AP Photos.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer Questions like this make Earl Thomas uncomfortable. The confidence he shows on the field takes a backseat when Seattle's star free safety is asked if he is the reason the Seahawks work defensively - even more so than their brash cornerbacks, more so than their talented linebackers or pass rushers. It...

Seahawks hoping to keep finding undrafted gems

(Eds: Adds details, quotes. With AP Photos.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer Before they landed in Seattle's camp, Benson Mayowa and John Lotulelei knew nothing of the Seahawks' recent history of giving undrafted rookies a spot on the final 53-man roster. All they understood was the difficulty of coming into a camp where there were very few position competitions and with a...
