Some people will disagree with me on this article and that is fine.  It’s an opinion piece and yes the Seahawks are my favorite team, but I still believe that they are one of the top 5 teams in the NFL this season. Yes, they lost Percy Harvin.  In an earlier article I said that the trade was a risky one do to Percy Harvin’s injury issues.  Say what you want about what Harvin could bring to the Seahawks if he was on the field.  But, we all know what happened last year for Seattle when he wasn’t even on the team. Look for Seattle to contend for the NFC West title and home field advantage in the NFC playoffs.  This team if finally for real and everyone else is taking notice.Week 1: at Carolina Panthers – W – 30-14The Seahawks won 16-12 in Charlotte last season.  That was before Russell Wilson and the offense were clicking.Week 2: San Francisco 49ers (SNF) – W – 35-17The Seahawks beat the 49ers 42-13 last year also on Sunday Night Football, avenging a 13-6 loss earlier in the season at ...

Percy Harvin’s surgeon was thrilled with how he bounced back after surgery

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told reporters today that there still isn’t a timeline for Percy Harvin’s return. Carroll did say that Harvin’s surgeon was,  ”thrilled with the way he came back the days right after the surgery.” The Seahawks will have a better idea of when Harvin might be able to return as we get closer to November.     Need NFL Tickets? Seattle Seahawks: Player Most Likely To Break Out In 2013

The offseason acquisition of Percy Harvin seemed to put the Seattle Seahawks ahead of other teams in the league in terms of offensive potential. But a season-ending hip injury to Harvin put those plans on hold. Enter Golden Tate.At age 25, the 5-10, fourth-year wide receiver looks to be taking the opportunity to make some noise in the Seattle lineup. Through three seasons the Seahawks...

Michael Irvin: ‘I love Richard Sherman’

Seattle Seahawks All-Pro Richard Sherman had eight interceptions and led the league in passes defensed (24) last year.  Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin thinks the third-year cornerback will be even better this year. “I love Richard Sherman. I absolutely love him,” said Irvin, who was elected to the Pro Football

Avril returns to practice for Seahawks

First slowed by foot problems during offseason workouts, and then a hamstring, Cliff Avril was just happy to be feeling well enough to get on the field for a short time. Seattle's big free agent signing along the defensive line was back on the practice field Wednesday for the first time. Avril only participated in individual drills, but coach Pete Carroll was hopeful Avril might...

Seattle Seahawks Secondary Poised For Special Season

The Seattle Seahawks’ secondary returns in 2013 with all four starters from last season. This relatively rare instance of continuity has only been enhanced with the offseason arrival of veteran defensive back Antoine Winfield, one of the NFL’s premier slot coverage and run-support cornerbacks. Among the four starters, cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner, and safeties...

Seattle's Earl Thomas makes Seahawks defense work

(Eds: Adds details, quotes. With AP Photos.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer Questions like this make Earl Thomas uncomfortable. The confidence he shows on the field takes a backseat when Seattle's star free safety is asked if he is the reason the Seahawks work defensively - even more so than their brash cornerbacks, more so than their talented linebackers or pass rushers. It...

Seahawks still have no timeframe for Percy Harvin’s return

When the Seattle Seahawks acquired wide receiver Percy Harvin from the Minnesota Vikings this offseason, they were hoping to add a dynamic threat and option for quarterback Russell Wilson. Unfortunately, the Seahawks aren’t sure when Harvin will be ready to return from his hip surgery. While head coach Pete Carroll is hopeful, the team still doesn’t have a timeframe for Harvin’s...

Seahawks hoping to keep finding undrafted gems

(Eds: Adds details, quotes. With AP Photos.) By TIM BOOTH AP Sports Writer Before they landed in Seattle's camp, Benson Mayowa and John Lotulelei knew nothing of the Seahawks' recent history of giving undrafted rookies a spot on the final 53-man roster. All they understood was the difficulty of coming into a camp where there were very few position competitions and with a...

The San Diego Chargers will take on their next preseason opponent this Thursday when they play the Chicago Bears.  Like in week one, the Chargers will be playing this game to figure out how to best prepare for and actually play this season.  Last week against the Seattle Seahawks, the Chargers starters performed very well and gave fans a reason to be optimistic about the future...

Moments in Time: Seahawks vs. Broncos 2012

Remember the date Moments in Time are usually saved for Seattle Seahawks regular season and post season games. This week, though, I have a special treat for you all. One memory in particular is one that is forever etched in my memory...

Broncos at Seattle

In what’s becoming a hot topic, the first half of Saturday’s game between the Broncos and the Seahawks could be a preview of Superbowl 2013.  Both teams made it to the playoffs last season with high expectations only to have their hopes dashed by late game meltdowns. The Seahawks crushed the Chargers in their last Thursday preseason opener, 31-10.  Despite only 23 yards...
