Some people will disagree with me on this article and that is fine.  It’s an opinion piece and yes the Seahawks are my favorite team, but I still believe that they are one of the top 5 teams in the NFL this season. Yes, they lost Percy Harvin.  In an earlier article I said that the trade was a risky one do to Percy Harvin’s injury issues.  Say what you want about what Harvin could bring to the Seahawks if he was on the field.  But, we all know what happened last year for Seattle when he wasn’t even on the team. Look for Seattle to contend for the NFC West title and home field advantage in the NFC playoffs.  This team if finally for real and everyone else is taking notice.Week 1: at Carolina Panthers – W – 30-14The Seahawks won 16-12 in Charlotte last season.  That was before Russell Wilson and the offense were clicking.Week 2: San Francisco 49ers (SNF) – W – 35-17The Seahawks beat the 49ers 42-13 last year also on Sunday Night Football, avenging a 13-6 loss earlier in the season at San Francisco.  Seattle proved that they were the better team in that game.Week 3: Jacksonville Jaguars – W – 41-10Jacksonville should have no chance against Seattle.  Look for the Seahawks to dominate both sides of the ball. Week 4: at Houston Texans – L – 24-28The Texans are a pretty good football team with a balanced offense and of the NFL’s best defenses.  Seattle does struggle at times on the road.Week 5: at Indianapolis Colts – W – 31-21This could easily be another road loss for the Seahawks.  But, after a loss to Houston, I would look for Seattle to come out determined.Week 6: Tennessee Titans – W – 48-13The Titans don’t have much going for them.  The Seahawks defense will give Jake Locker a very hurtful homecoming.Week 7: at Arizona Cardinals (NFLN) – W – 24-20Seattle lost to Arizona in Week 1 in 2012 and then destroyed them later in the season 58-0… OUCH!  Arizona will be drastically improved with Carson Palmer under center.  But look for Seattle to pull off a close one.Week 8: at St. Louis Rams (MNF) – W – 21-20The Rams are a young team who is trying to get over the hump.  Well it will be very difficult for them to do so in the tough NFC West.  Look for Seattle to squeak out a win.Week 9: Tampa Bay Buccaneers – W – 38-17The Buccaneers aren’t the same ones that Tony Dungy built into a power in the early 2000s.  Seattle is unstoppable at home and look for them to win big.Week 10: at Atlanta Falcons – L – 20-31For some reason, the Seahawks can’t win in the Georgia Dome.  Now, 2013 is Atlanta’s best chance in 15 years to reach the Super Bowl.  Look for Atlanta to pull off the win.Week 11: Minnesota Vikings – W – 45-31The only thing Minnesota has going for it is Adrian Peterson.  While he might run wild in Seattle, the Vikings defense won’t be able to stop Marshawn Lynch and company. Week 12: Bye WeekWeek 13: New Orleans Saints (MNF) – W – 48-29The Saints offense and overall team will be better this season with Sean Payton back on the sidelines.  However, the defense still needs a lot of work.  The Saints might put up some yardage, but their defense will give up more points.Week 14: at San Francisco 49ers – L – 17-20 (OT)Winning at Candlestick has always been hard for the Hawks to pull off.  This game will be close with the Niners pulling it off.Week 15: at New York Giants – W – 34-21Even with Eli Manning at quarterback, the Seahawks always play well in the Meadowlands against the Giants.  Look for Lynch and company to run wild.Week 16: Arizona Cardinals – W – 45-24This should be an easy win for Seattle.  Even with the Cardinals offense being great, their defense isn’t.  Remember…. 58-0!!!Week 17: St. Louis Rams – W – 44-19The Rams do not play well in Seattle.  Look for Russell Wilson to exploit the Rams defensive backfield. So there you have it.  Seattle finishes 13-3 and secures home field advantage in the playoffs, which will help when they have to play the Falcons again.
