There's been a lot of talk this offseason about the rookie quarterbacks of this Draft.

Andrew Luck looks like Peyton Manning already, and RGIII is bringing excitement back to the nation's capitol.

We've even heard buzz around Brandon Weeden in Cleveland, mainly because he is older than Aaron Rodgers and hasn't played a meaningful down in the NFL yet.

But on the West Coast there is an undersized Big 10 quarterback that Pete Carroll was criticized for by taking him so high in the Draft after signing Matt Flynn to a contract. That man's name is Russell Wilson.

After completing 13 of 19 passes for 185 yards and two scores, plus an added 58 yards rushing on only two carries, he's well on his way to earning the starting job in Seattle. So far he's 35 of 52 for 364 yards, with five TDs and just one pick.

He also has 140 yards rushing and a TD on the ground this preseason. Let's compare these numbers to RGIII, since they have similar playing styles. Griffin III has completed 20 of 31 passes for 193 yards and two TDs. He's rushed for just 22 yards in three games this preseason.

It's way too early to say that Wilson is going to put up better numbers, or if he's a better player than RGIII, but right now Seattle fans seem to be happy with their coaches choice to take a chance on Wilson.

He's looked really good every opportunity that he's had and the biggest hurdle in the NFL is being able to take advantage of opportunities when they arise, and Russell Wilson has done just that.

He's exciting and fun to watch. Seattle hasn't had a playmaker like this in a long time. If he indeed wins the starting job and can mesh with the veteran receivers and Marshawn Lynch, this team has a chance to make some noise in a weaker NFC West division.
