Even though the 2012 NFL Free Agency frenzy practically pulled to a screeching halt a while ago, that hasn’t stopped several teams from searching for some top talent still left on the open market.
The Seattle Seahawks continued to make moves Friday afternoon, acquiring cornerback Roy Lewis, guard Deuce Lutui and linebacker Barrett Ruud.
Roy Lewis was picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2008. The 5-10, 190-pound cornerback appeared in just one game with the Steel Curtain, before being released in September ’09.
The University of Washington alum was quickly claimed off waivers and signed with Seattle, where he’s spent the last three seasons.
Lewis, 26, made just three tackles in his sophomore season, but elevated his play in 2010 and 2011, when he worked his way into the team’s nickel package, became a special teams captain and combined for 50 tackles, 1.5 sacks, five passes defensed and one forced fumble, as he appea...
