The Arizona Cardinals withstood a late rally by the Seahawks minutes after putting together a rally of their own.

Seattle had multiple opportunities in the last minute, but rookie quarterback Russell Wilson couldn’t get the ball into the end zone.

This game was lacking statistical stars, but one player really stood out as the hero of the game.

Kevin Kolb entered the game after starting quarterback John Skelton left late in the game with an injury and put together a masterful game winning drive.

While Skelton failed to put much of anything together against Seattle’s stout secondary, Kolb had no problem coming in and completing 6 of 8 passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.

It came as a surprise to watch the man who just lost out on the starting quarterback position come in and carve up a secondary like Seattle’s, but that is just what he did and is why he is my hero of the game.

Not to take anything away from Kolb’s late-game heroics, but Seattle should have won this game. The zero of the game goes to the entire Seahawks' offense. Seattle had multiple chances late and were given an extra timeout by an inept officiating crew who were making up rules as they went and still couldn’t get score.

There should be no excuses for not scoring against Arizona’s defense with as many chances as the Seahawks got. Wilson couldn’t complete numerous fade routes and Braylon Edwards dropped a ball in the end zone on 4th down. These struggles made them my zero of the game.

As Seattle charged down the field late I was sure Wilson was going to be hero and Arizona’s secondary would be the zero, but the Cardinals' defensive backs stepped up at the last second and completely changed the outcome of the game and most importantly (…to me) this article.
