According to NFL.com, the Seattle Seahawks have gotten some very bad news regarding their wide receiver Sidney Rice. The NFL network has reported today that Rice will miss the rest of the Seahawks’ season after tearing his ACL during Monday night’s victory over the St. Louis Rams. It appears Rice suffered an injury to his knee and head before leaving midway through the second quarter of Monday’s game. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday that Rice is also dealing with concussion-like symptoms. Rice has a long history of knee problems and reportedly underwent platelet-rich plasma treatment in Switzerland in August. Losing Rice is a big blow to the Seahawks offense that looked far from special on Monday night. The Seahawks finished Monday night’s game with 135 total yards of offense but luckily were still able to get the win. The return of Percy Harvin becomes even more crucial to the Seahawks now as he may be forced to take Rice’s spot in the lineup on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rice is due $8.5 million for next season and according to the NFL network, Rice likely has played his final snap as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Too bad.
