its been awhile since i wrote an article here because i recently had throat surgery, and i was one of those pushing big for Fitz and Moss and CJ. But after today, our WR answers were answered.
Waking up today i had one thing on my mind,,, DRAFT DESEAN!!! when pick 19 came i felt for sure we would. and then the big trade. at first i was like what the bleep? and then when i saw the details of an 09 first rounder, i was ecstatic! 2 picks in the first round next year, and the key is who we got it from. The Panthers will probably have a bad season, so whats that mean? a top 10 pick! we could use it to get atleast a future QB or maybe that top notch safety that will replace dawks.
then it became a waiting game, Reid and the boys teasing us... making us wait and wait and wait. And then the pick came, Desean was still there, and the anouncement of Trevor Laws. Now im a big college guys, some of you might not be aware of him, but this is going to be our future DT here. To set the school record for tackles, is one thing, doing it as a DT is another, but doing it at a school like Notre Dame? Kid gots talent!
The trading game was clean with the eagles, they had one pick, and then were on the clock one pick later. And when i heard the anouncement of Desean Jackson, lets just say i let out a yell that was heard through the house... with stitches all throughout my throat! Ok he isnt Huge, he isnt the prototype #1. but let me throw a comparison out there to you. #89 of the Panthers, Steve Smith, who is one of the top 10 wrs in the NFL. They are about the same size, Desean a little lighter, but he can put on some weight if needed. But then that will take away the Brian Westbrook/'Devin Hester Running skill he gots. This kid is an ace with screen passes, and no one relies more on screens then donnie mcnabb. Imagine a double screen, bwest to the right, desean to the left? and not to mention the kind downfield speed we will have with curtis and desean.
Speaking of speed, am i the only one that thinks getting booker for a rnd 4 draft pick, as a #2 rb a steal? we will have one of the fastsest offences out there. why do you need a 6'6" wr when you got 2 who will be tough to catch? along with a lights out backfield?
now you all might be worried why andy reid traded all these players. chill out! andy has a plan. there is a few cards up his sleeve and im thinking one of them is Danny Conner! Hometown boy!!! he could trade up big time, trade down ect... im really excited to see what were doing with that #3 pick we have... it might be conner... it might be included with one of the many 6 rnd picks we have to get the first rnd 3 pick. Andy said he had his eyes more on later round players, and we know andy is a genius in the later rounds. Trent Cole, Omar Gathier anyone???
Im happy! i hope you are too so far
