Tiger Jones is one step closer to returning to the Philadelphia Soul.

Jones was released by the Eagles late on Saturday, as they trimmed their roster to 80 players. He was signed by the Eagles in early July.
He played in two preseason games with the Eagles. He made two catches for 10 yards in the Eagles win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, then sat out on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots.
His last game was against the Cleveland Browns. He did not have a reception in this game.
Jones was put on the Soul’s exempt list, which allows him to return to the Soul. The Soul have the first rights to negotiate a contract when the AFL teams can talk to free agents in September.
He had 133 receptions for 2,010 yards and a career-high 47 touchdowns. It was his first season with the Soul.
He signed with the Soul after the Dallas Vigilantes folded. With Dallas, he had a 170 receptions and 2,225 yards and 42 touchdowns, while being the main target of Dan Raudabaugh, who was then the Vigilantes starting quarterback and spent last season with the Soul.
In 2010, he was a member of the Milwaukee Iron franchise. He had a 125 receptions for 1,810 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Before the league folded in 2009, he was apart of the Georgia Force in 2008. With the Force, he had 96 receptions for 1,214 yards and 29 touchdowns.
