Photo by Ronald Martinez/ Getty Images It does not seem often the St. Louis Rams face an opponent who is evenly matched. In the past five or six seasons the Rams have been the underdogs. This upcoming week the Rams will take on the Dallas Cowboys at the newly named AT&T stadium. It may seem a little odd that these two teams are evenly matched when the Cowboys are looked as a playoff team and the Rams are on the rise. If the Rams want an opportunity to play in the postseason this is a must-win game for them. The St. Louis Rams are currently 1-1, tied for second in the NFC West. So far the Rams record is where most expected them to be after two games, but with a little cause for concern. This season they have struggled coming out of the gate against both opponents. Although they have had a shaky first two quarters in both games, the Rams have shown they have fight in them. They were fortunate enough to win against the Arizona Cardinals, but came up short in their comeback attempt against the Atlanta Falcons last week. This week the Rams defensive will have their hands full as they will try and keep wide receivers Dez Bryant, Mile Austin, along with running back DeMarco Murray in check. If the Rams have one advantage that could help them get to a 2-1 start, it is their defensive front. Although St. Louis defense is ranked 24th, the team is stacked with talent that will soon begin to blossom. The Rams front seven tied for 1st in sacks last season and have played hungrier this year. They are currently tied for 10th with six sacks thus far. Through the first two games, Dallas has given up 5 sacks, tying for 12th in the league. That spells bad news for Romo, who will be playing hurt on Sunday as he has been dealing with bruised ribs. The Rams front four are like sharks, once they smell the blood they will come after you. If Romo decides to make plays outside of the pocket, the Rams have a speedy linebacker who will be out to get him. Rookie linebacker Alec Ogletree leads the team in tackles and was brought in to keep mobile quarterbacks in check. Although the Cowboys are a four point favorite, this game could go either way. With the division being so stacked, the Rams will need to take advantage of games like these and pull out the W.
