Instant 49ers:
Veteran Barry Sims took over and has played well after Staley was injured on the first play of the 49ers' game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Cornerback Marcus Hudson (back) is day-to-day, and cornerback Nate Clements (shoulder) is out.
Coach Mike Singletary said a key to this game will be in getting the 49ers' corners to play physical against the Cardinals wideouts and allow the 49ers' pass rush time to get to quarterback Kurt Warner.
Of course, that was a lot easier to do when Clements was matched in man coverage against Larry Fitzgerald. Dre' Bly and Tarell Brown are not the most physical of corners. Singletary said both players have no other choice but to be physical against the Cardinals.

The Cardinals have focused offensively on a more balanced offense, Singletary said. Running backs Tim Hightower and Chris "Beanie" Wells are both running downhill and finishing their runs. They have combined for 1,052 yards rushing...
