Despite all the D-line shuffling that went on in 2010, Patriots veteran DE Ty Warren likely will be fighting to regain his starting spot, and possibly to stay on the roster, after missing all of last season with a hip injury.
The 30-year-old is set to make $3.1 million next season, though he did tell the Herald that he was not asked to take a pay cut.
Even so, the Patriots are expected to draft a 3-4 end and also added veteran Marcus Stroud just before the league year ended, giving Warren more competition. Warren is doing what he needs to in order to get in shape, and he brings a veteran presence, but he’s not a shoo-in to return in 2011.
