On Monday, the Steelers world was moved to find out that Sharon Ilkin, wife of former Steelers offensive tackle Tunch Ilkin, had lost her battle with breast cancer at 55. The Pittsburgh Steelers terminated the contract of veteran cornerback Bryant McFadden on Wednesday.
McFadden has spent six of his seven seasons with the Steelers, but he played a limited role this season, making only 10 tackles in 13 games.
The 30-year-old McFadden had two interceptions and a career-high 82 tackles in 2010-11 with Pittsburgh.

Steelers tight end Weslye Saunders has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2012 season for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances. Saunders, an undrafted rookie in 2011, is eligible to participate in all preseason games and practices before his suspension begins Sept. 1.
