The Steelers suffered an upset against the Oakland Raiders early this season and they are hoping Oakland has another one in them today. Oakland will head to Baltimore today to face the Ravens in a game the Ravens are fully expected to win. Pittsburgh currently sits one game behind the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North division and will face them for the first of two times next week. If Oakland can pull an upset this week and the Steelers can take care of business against the Chiefs then they will enter next weeks game with the division on the line. As things stand now the Steelers will have to win both games against the Ravens in 2012, they were swept in 2011, to take control of the division. A two game sweep for either team would also mean a tie breaker in their favor. That tie breaker is very important. Last year the tie breaker was in the Ravens favor and it was the difference between the number two seed in the AFC and the number five seed. The difference in those seeds gave the Ravens a bye week and home field advantage. On the other hand the Steelers had to travel to Denver and play in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. A big win by Oakland today could be huge for the Steelers going into a big game next week. Usually the Steelers root against the Raiders who are still a rival after there playoff match-ups in the 1970′s. However, with the Raiders playing the Steelers biggest division rival in Baltimore all of Steeler Nation will be rooting for the Raiders today to get a big win for the them and the Steelers.   The post Steelers Could Use Another Big Game by the Raiders in Week 10 appeared first on SteelBlitz.

ESPN Uses Drink And Drunk Graphic For Ben Roethlisberger Instead Of Dink And Dunk

The graphic department for ESPN certainly made an error tonight as the below graphic was used that showed ROETHLISBERGER with the words "DRINKANDDRUNK" underneath it. Obviously it was meant to say Dink And Dunk for the offense run by Ben Roethlisberger, instead of Drink And Drunk. The network quickly had it changed. ESPN will likely issue an apology of sorts at some...

Steelers Choose Not to Add Extra Wide Receiver for Monday Night

The Steelers were expected to add a fourth wide receiver for their match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs to replace the injured Antonio Brown. Brown has already been ruled out of the game with an ankle injury which leaves the Steelers with only three healthy receivers on the roster. When the final roster was announced the Steelers decided to only keep four receivers because none of...

Emmanuel Sanders Faked Injury, Fined

It's not a new thing; Fake an injury and get a free timeout.  Teams have done probably since before there were cameras all over the field.  The problem is, the Pittsburgh Steelers' Emmanuel Sanders faked his injury in front of the Sunday Night Football cameras of NBC.  And the league caught it.  For his troubles, Sanders was fined $15,000 by the NFL. According to Alan...

Big Ben suffers ESPN graphics snafu

Well, this is one of the more unfortunate snafus we've ever featured.  Instead of a segment about Ben Roethlisberger's short passing game "Dink and Dunk", ESPN labelled it in their rundown as "Roethlisberger Drink and Drunk."  Unlucky mistake or not-so-subtle dig at Roethlisberger's checkered past?  Whatever the case, Chris Berman had to come on...

McFadden, Goodson & Seymour won’t play Sunday

According to Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times, running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson, as well as defensive end Richard Seymour will not play this week. “You don’t ever know exactly how someone is going to respond to an injury,” said Raiders head coach Dennis Allen. “Obviously, none of them make enough progress this week that they were able to be up. We’ll...

Steelers Injury Report: Antonio Brown Out For a Few Games

You probably already expected Antonio Brown to be out on Monday against the Kansas City Chiefs.  However, it turns out Brown will likely miss more than this week's game.  It seems as if the Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver will miss a few games. According to Mike Florio of NBC's Pro Football Talk, Brown is expected to miss a few games due to his ankle injury. ...

Isaac Redman Will Get The Start On Monday

Mark Kaboly from The Pittsburgh Tribune Review reports that RB Isaac Redman has told him that he will start on Monday against the Chiefs. Redman handled the workload last week against the Giants after injuries to Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Dwyer kept them out of the game. The result was a positive one as Redman rushed for 147 yards, a career best, and scored the game winning...

Steelers Midseason Report Card

The Pittsburgh Steelers have won three straight games and have reached the midpoint of the season at 5-3.    Ben Roethlisberger is having one of his finest seasons and is the team MVP of the first half. He is currently the best third down quarterback in the league. I give Big Ben an A+ for the way he’s taken to Todd Haley’s offense.   Offensive Player of the Midseason...

Steelers Fan Responds to 15-Yard Penalty for Cursing

Willie Colon was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct in the first half of Monday Night Football between Colon's Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs. Colon was flagged for cursing. We **** you not.

Raiders Make A Number Of Roster Moves

The Raiders announced on Twitter that they’ve made a series of roster moves this morning. To make room for CB Ronald Bartell, they released CB Pat Lee, who was deemed to be expendable after he became a weak point in their secondary over the last 6 weeks. Bartell was activated from the injured reserve list and will start along side of Michael Huff after the team was forced to place...

Raiders activate Bartell, Stewart

The Oakland Raiders have activated cornerback Ron Bartell from short-term injured reserve and promoted running back Jeremy Stewart from the practice squad. To make room on the 53-man roster the Raiders waived cornerback Pat Lee on Saturday and placed cornerback Shawntae Spencer on season-ending injured reserve. Bartell had been out since breaking his left shoulder blade in the...

Ravens Unload on Raiders, Dominate 55-20

Ravens: 55 – Raiders: 20 The Ravens showed on Sunday just how explosive and dangerous their offense can be. Baltimore dominated the Raiders in every facet of the game on Sunday and the final score of 55-20 showed just that. The Ravens scored on passing plays, running plays, and even special teams plays en route to a team record for points scored in a game. Baltimore opened up the...

Week 10 of the 2012 NFL season will be in the books later on tonight after the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Kansas City Chiefs, and with 7 weeks of regular season action remaining, it is already shaping up to be a nine team race for the six playoff spots in the mediocre AFC. Regardless of the outcome of the Monday night game, only 6 of the 16 AFC teams will have a winning record...
