The Steelers are still mulling wide receiver Hines Ward`s future in Pittsburgh as they work to get under the salary cap and make personnel decisions that will shape the 2012 roster. "To this current point no final decisions have been made," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said today in regard to Ward. "We've had several discussions internally." An NFL Network report surfaced last Friday that the Steelers won't bring back Ward, their all-time leading receiver, for a 15th season. Ward, who is owed $4 million a season over the next two years, went on the offensive a day later on his Facebook page, reiterating his desire to retire as a Steeler and his willingness to restructure his contract. The Steelers, Colbert said, won't sign any of their own free agents until March. He said the Steelers may have to make some tough decisions when it comes to veterans like Ward, a fan favorite and one of the most accomplished players in franchise history. "Any player that's been a part of your success it's very difficult to part ways with," Colbert said, "and the longer a player's been here and the more he's done for the organization, the tougher it is to make those kinds of moves. That's all part of the business."
