The reeling Pittsburgh Steelers could get some familiar faces back on Sunday in Baltimore. Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday wide receiver Antonio Brown should play and he's ''encouraged'' by safety Troy Polamalu's progress from a right calf injury. Polamalu has played just five quarters all season after injuring the calf in the opener at Denver and aggravating the injury against the Eagles on Oct. 7. Brown has missed the last three games after injuring his ankle in a victory over the New York Giants on Nov. 4. Source: Associated Press Attached Thumbnails

Haslam owning the Browns-Steelers rivalry

By Don DelcoOriginally published at The Orange And Brown Report By now, Im sure youve heard all the excuses by fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ben Roethlisberger was hurt. Byron Leftwich was hurt. Troy Polamolu was hurt. Antonio Brown was hurt. Mike Adams is a starting offensive tackle. The Steelers typically play down to their competition. Youre not going to win when your...

Polamalu looks to return but credit Will Allen for solid play

Troy Polamalu practiced on Thursday and looks like he should be ready to play on Sunday in Baltimore when the Steelers head into round 2 of this yearly rivalry. Nobody will say that Will Allen should keep his starting job when Polamalu returns but nonetheless Allen has played very well since replacing Ryan Mundy this season. Hey may not have all the exotic moves that Troy has, but...

Pittsburgh Steelers working through issues with Mike Wallace and Big Ben.

Could there be a Pennsylvania football curse? The Pittsburgh Steelers could be on pace to sink as fast as the Philadelphia Eagles. The two situations are comprised of very different circumstances yet their end result could be the same in that neither team will cash in their post-season expectations.  Please Click Here To Read This Story

Steelers’ Loss to Browns Doesn’t Mean This Is 2009 Redux

Let’s see, the Pittsburgh Steelers are without Ben Roethlisberger and Troy Polamalu. They showed some promise earlier this season with a four-game winning streak that got them to six wins. Then they lost two straight, including a defeat in Cleveland to a woeful Browns team. Now they’re 6-5 and losing their grip on a playoff berth. Sounds an awful lot like 2009, doesn’t it?...

Mike Wallace benched this week?

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace caught only one pass last week against the Cleveland Browns on the final play of the game for 9 yards. He has just eight receptions for 49 yards in the last three games. Coach Mike Tomlin has listed Wallace as a "co-starter" with Emmanuel Sanders and says "situations" will determine if Wallace gets the start this...

Pittsburgh Steelers and the number 7

The number seven has much significance in the city of Pittsburgh. There are many connections, large and small, good and bad, obvious and not-so-obvious. Regardless of their nature, all these connections are pointed at the most important seven, Super Bowl Championship No. 7. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wears number seven. The team misses him, as they are win less since his injury...

Roethlisberger, Polamalu, Brown all practice for the Steelers

Right now it sounds like Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger won’t play this week against the Ravens.  But according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, Roethlisberger was limited in practice today along with wide receiver Jericho Cotchery. Wide receiver Antonio Brown and safety Troy Polamlu full practiced. Linebacker LaMarr Woodley didn’t practice.   var...

Steelers should be better prepared to face Ravens, in theory

Even with everything that went wrong in week 11 when the Ravens came into Heinz Field and took a close victory away with them, 13-10, the Steelers had a chance to win at the end. That was without guys like Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Troy Polamalu, and others. This coming Sunday when the two rivals face off in Baltimore, the Steelers should be, in theory at least, better prepared...

Steelers Notebook:

A busy day for the Pittsburgh Steelers: Roethlisberger update, Wallace & Mendenhall on their demotions; Troy Polamalu back on the field.

First and Ten: Rubin's return, Winn's plays

1) The conventional wisdom for the Browns is that Phil Taylors return has made all the difference in the improved run defense. And theres no doubt that Taylor has helped since he returned from a torn pectoral muscle. The Browns gave up 63 and 49 yards rushing to Dallas and Pittsburgh. But sometimes impressions overcome facts. So lets check the facts, because its not Taylor who has...

Jeweler refunds thousands after Auburn shutout

Golden eggs aren't a myth. Just ask Jeff Dennis. Dennis owns a jeweler in Alabama, and this year decided to drum up some promotion. If either side in the Iron Bowl was shut out, any customer who made a purchase at Jeff Dennis Jewelers' from Nov. 16-23 would have thier purchases refunded. No gimmicks, no gags, just cash. As we now know, Auburn were dismantled by the Tide...

Steelers Injury Report: Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Troy Polamalu

While it remains unclear if Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (rib/shoulder) will be able to suit up this weekend against the Baltimore Ravens, coach Mike Tomlin sounded positive regarding the chances of wide receiver Antonio Brown (ankle) and safety Troy Polamalu (calf) playing Sunday, reports Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com. Tomlin also sounded positive about...

Steelers Need Max Starks To Continue His Iron Man Season Or Else

The injury bug has certainly taken its toll once again on the Pittsburgh Steelers and this past week it was rookie tackle Mike Adams and linebacker LaMarr Woodley that were dinged up enough in the loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday to have their names added to the list. Adams was ruled out by head coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday with an ankle injury , while Woodley was termed...
