So far this season, Ben Roethlisberger has been on a record pace. In the first 3 games he threw for 904 yds, 8 touchdowns and 1 interception. The upgraded offense installed by Todd Haley clearly works in favor of the strengths of Big Ben and over the course of the season is capable of producing offensive numbers we haven’t seen in Pittsburgh in, well, forever. Spreading the ball around to at least 8 different targets per game and getting rid of the ball quickly while still utilizing Ben’s knack for keeping plays alive has served them well.On Sunday at Heinz Field against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Steelers offense showed a different side, one we haven’t seen much of at all this year. The obvious response to that is the running game, but also it showed us that Ben still has the ability to win the close game when things aren’t going as well in the passing game as he’s been used too this season. He’s no stranger to extending plays as we know and that will continue to be useful all ye...

Where are the Steelers going this season? Week 6 Preview

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers have had a rough start to the season. They lost to Peyton Manning and, what turns out to be, a weak Broncos team. They also lost to the Raiders, come on, it's the Raiders. They beat, a terrible Jets team and squeezed out a win against the Eagles last week. The early bye doesn't do anything for an aging defense that could have used a...

Roethlisberger Credited With Touchdown Pass To Mendenhall By Elias

Elias Sports Bureau has made an official scoring change on Wednesday and has now credited Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger as throwing a 13 yard touchdown pass to running back Rashard Mendenhall in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles after it was originally scored a lateral. The official stat change now means Roethlisberger has 9 touchdown passes on the season...

Ben Roethlisberger is respectful of Bradshaw as he prepares to break his record

There will be no official passing of the torch in Pittsburgh. It’s a shame really as current Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is only 300 yards away from breaking Terry Bradshaw’s record for most passing yards in team history which currently stands at 27,989. To say that in the past Bradshaw and Roethlisberger have entertained a frosty relationship is an understatement...

Willie Colon: Ben Roethlisberger thought the Eagles were going after his head

With the way the NFL protects quarterbacks these days, it would be extremely difficult to take a shot at an opposing passer’s head without being called for a personal foul and subsequently fined. Ben Roethlisberger apparently thought the Eagles were attempting it on Sunday, as evidenced by the play where he got in Philly defensive end Brandon Graham’s face after taking a shot...

Will Roethlisberger End Up Being Credited For A Touchdown Pass To Mendenhall?

The 13 yard touchdown that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall scored in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles was officially scored as a run and not a pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The official scorer viewed the pass from Roethlisberger as being a lateral and I have had a few request to take a closer look at the play. Obviously this play could make the...

I wouldn’t mind if this happened during the Eagles-Steelers game (VIDEO)

Ben Roethlisberger getting sucked into the ground? I don’t mind. If it were to happen, the Eagles would of course wind up safely where Hines Ward lands in the clip. A girl can dream. Want more Philly Sports Muse? You can find me on Twitter at @sports_muse and on Facebook.

Hritz: Steelers Versus Titans Preview and Prediction

By Jeremy Hritz The 2012 football season is buzzing by, and the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves at 2-2 after the first quarter. With twelve games left to go before the six teams from the AFC are cemented for the NFL playoffs, the Steelers still have much work to do if they want to claim the one of those spots. The bright spots thus far have been few, but if anything has been...

Steelers edge Eagles on last-second field goal

PITTSBURGH -- At some point, the Philadelphia Eagles' high-wire act to start the season was going to come crashing down. It was only fitting that it came at the hands of another comeback artist. Ben Roethlisberger engineered a game-winning drive that ended with Shaun Suisham's 34-yard field goal as time expired, and the Steelers edged the Eagles 16-14 Sunday at Heinz Field...

Steelers ready to start winning streak at Titans

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have picked the right place to start winning on the road when they visit the punchless Tennessee Titans on Thursday night. The Steelers (2-2) have two home wins and two road losses, and with running back Rashard Mendenhall back in the lineup to complement Ben Roethlisberger, they hope to pound away at a defense that has allowed more points than any other...

Steelers hoping to slow record penalty pace

The Steelers are hoping the referees keep their flags tucked inside their pockets on Thursday night when Pittsburgh visits Tennessee. The Steelers (2-2) lead the NFL with 37 penalties for 346 yards through the first month of the season and are on pace to shatter team records in both categories. Coach Mike Tomlin says his team needs to be smarter and more disciplined, particularly...

Steelers-Titans Preview

The Pittsburgh Steelers are back at .500, but injuries on defense continue to be a concern even with a potentially favorable prime time matchup ahead. Trying to win two in a row for the first time this season, the banged-up Steelers look for a fourth consecutive victory over the struggling Tennessee Titans on Thursday night in Nashville. Coming off its bye week, Pittsburgh (2-2...
