It’s been a long couple of weeks with the Steelers on the bye, good thing we had Crosby to distract us.  The Steelers are coming off the bye in a great position to make a good run, only two more teams with winning records left to face, the Bengals and the 49ers (who were hoping will take down the Ravens Thanksgiving evening).  The Steelers have been busy on their off week, here’s some of the stuff they’ve been up to.

  • Antonio Brown spent some time at the Penguins game on Monday, witnessing the return of Sidney Crosby.  He had pretty good seats too.
  • Ryan Clark is feeling pretty good about what I have to assume is his appeal of the $40k fine he was handed down a couple weeks ago, and is off to donate some blood.

Appeal seems to have went well. Now to my blood bank appearance. Give blood my friends. You can save lives!

  • I actually laughed out loud when this came up on my Facebook newsfeed.  Brett Keisel is the best.  The Beard might be better.

” I managed to hold onto this rainbow I caught today long enough to snap a photo before DaBeard consumed it.”

  • Some Steelers are holding two toy drives during the Holiday Season.  LaMarr Woodley and Ziggy Hood are cohosting their annual Toy Drive to benefit Children’s Hospital on December 12th at the mall at Robinson from 6-8pm.  Those that donate can receive autographs from the two players.  And Charlie Batch is holding benefitting Toys for Tots and the Best of the Batch Foundation on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Dave & Busters at the Waterfront from 12 noon-2 p.m  So, if you’re in the area definitely stop by and help out the kids at the holidays.
  • In honor of Thanksgiving tomorrow Trai Essex took to his twitter to let everyone know what he was thankful for and had a few other good tweets.  And he should be thankful for the best fans on earth.
God, Amazing Family & Friends, 2 great dogs, best job on Earth with the best Fans/Followers on Earth, Good Health! Happy Thanksgiving eve! Probably the #1 workout day of the year…or atleast for me it is! Gotta make some xtra room So off to do some pre practice cardio.@Teamtinyshirts UNITE! @RamonFoster@maxstarks78@Legursky@Probowler53@MGilbert76@THills76
  • Quote of the week goes to the coach talking about his lack of concern over Roethlisberger’s play with a bum thumb.  Ben is no wimp.
“There is a pain tolerance issue — a comfortability issue,” Tomlin said. ” All of those things, I think, will be sorted out over the course of the week. To be honest with you, I am not overly concerned about his ability to be affective in the midst of this.”
  • It’s a good thing Shaun Smith doesn’t play for the Chiefs anymore or the Steelers would have to watch for stray hands….
