Pro Sports Daily:
The Steelers had a brutal day Sunday showing little offensive capability in their 16-9 defeat to the Titans and losing three players (center Maurkice Pouncey linebacker Larry Scott and running back LaRod Stephens-Howling) to season-ending injuries.
Though Pouncey is the biggest loss to the team Pittsburgh has moved quickly to fill in its running back depth by re-signing Jonathan Dwyer according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
There was chatter on Twitter late Sunday night that based on the performances by Giants running backs David Wilson (two lost fumbles) and Da'Rel Scott that New York might try to sign Dwyer but obviously the Giants now will have to look elsewhere.
Meanwhile Dwyer Pittsburgh's leading rusher from last season returns to a Steelers squad that released him before the regular season because “his coaches did not feel he took his job seriously enough.” Another problem initially for Dwyer: the team drafted Le'Veon Bell in the second round (he's out fo...

Re-signing Dwyer only makes sense now that LaRod Stephens-Howling is done for the season after tearing his ACL on Sunday.

The Patriots are ready to get the 2013 season underway, but, while their roster is pretty much set for Week 1, they’re still taking a look at who’s available on the free agent market.
The Patriots worked out 11 free agents at Gillette Stadium on Friday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates, including three quarterbacks and former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jonathan Dwyer....
Mike Tomlin stressed to Jonathan Dwyer when the coach cut the Pittsburgh Steelers running back 10 days ago that the decision to release the team's leading rusher in 2012 was not a personal one.
''We kept the guys that we kept because of the things they did, not because of the things Jonathan didn't do,'' Tomlin said.
No hard feelings, apparently.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers fear that center Maurkice Pouncey suffered a torn ACL after being carted off during today’s game against the Titans.

This would be a huge blow to the Steelers. Pouncey...
The day started well for the Pittsburgh Steelers when Tennessee return man Darius Reynaud brain-farted and gave the Steelers two points on the opening kickoff, but it was all down hill from there. The Steelers looked pretty bad through out the day and ended up losing to the Titans 16-9.While the early season loss would be pretty easy to recover from the loss of All-Pro center Maurkice...
The details are sketchy at this time, but Steelers stud center Maurkice Pouncey may be out for awhile after injuring his knee against the Titans.
Chris Mortensen is reporting that Pouncey was just carted off from Heinz Field.

Pouncey was rolled up on by guard David DeCastro, who was visibly upset after the play.
Kelvin Beachum will now take over at center as Cody Wallace is inactive for the game.
Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey Carted Off With Right Knee Injury...
Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and MCL and is out for the season.
It's a devastating injury for the Steelers. Pouncey a three-time Pro Bowler and 2011 All-Pro was the lynchpin of a very thin and shaky offensive line.
One of the huge surprises from Sunday’s action was the Steelers’ opening day loss at the hands of the Tennessee Titans. It was a very Steeler-esque game, but at the end of the day, it was the Titans that had the upper hand.
The Steelers’ defense actually did its part in the 16 to 9 loss. The Titans were unable to move the ball consistently, but they were able to do just enough...
The Steelers couldn't get through eight snaps before losing their center and captain, Maurkice Pouncey, on a fluke play during a 16-9 loss.
The AFC North certainly isn't what it used to be, at least after the first week of the 2013 season, as all four teams are 0-1 heading into the second week of the season.
The Baltimore Ravens started things off with their 49-27 loss in the 2013 season opener to the Denver Broncos and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns all followed suit with...
In a flurry of necessary roster moves, the Pittsburgh Steelers have changed the make-up of their team in just a few days.According to Josh Alper of NBCSports, the Pittsburgh Steelers have placed center, Maurkice Pouncey, linebacker, Larry Foote and running back, LaRod Stephens-Howling, on season-ending injured reserve from injuries suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans...
YOUR PITTSBURGH STEELERS ARE IN FIRST PLACE IN THE AFC NORTH!
Wait, what?! Yes, you heard correctly...your Steelers lost to the Tennessee Titans in the opening week of the season, and by virtue of everyone else in the division losing, there's a 4-way tie atop the AFC North. Granted, that's not how you're expecting things to shake out just a game into...
