New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford told WFAN’s Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton on the Boomer & Carton morning show (via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News) just how much he disliked former Jets’ special teams coach Mike Westhoff. “I didn’t get along with Mike,” Weatherford said. “Mike was a really difficult person to play for. He’s a guy that kind of harped on the negative a little bit, and life’s short, man. I’m trying to have fun. And nobody works harder than me, so you can’t say anything like that. It was just difficult … I don’t know exactly why we didn’t get along, but it was a mutual parting of the ways. Weatherford says he liked playing for the Jets, but he didn’t feel respected. “I liked being a New York Jet, and everybody treated me well there, but I felt like there was just maybe a little lack of respect. I’m 30 years old, I’m a father of three and he just didn’t treat me that way. It was frustrating because I wanted to be great for him, but he

Giants may have to dump more players

According to Patricia Traina of Yahoo! Sports, even though the Giants cleared up some cap space by releasing Chris Canty, Ahmad Bradshaw and Michael Boley, it looks like they only have about $4 million to use in free agency.  With this being the case they’ll likely have to dump more players to get further under the cap. Traina mentioned David Diehl, Corey Webster, Justin Tuck...

New York Giants Mount Rushmore: Four Franchise Icons

But when we win, these events are glorious. The heroes...

Super Bowl, World Series, Kentucky Derby, each of these events is synonymous with the month that it is held in. Some months hold multiple big sporting events. Some have hardly anything at all. A bunch of my friends and I were sitting around one day, having a few brewskies of course, and we were just throwing random sports events out and having a spirited discussion about which month...

Nicks or Cruz? Who do the Giants Sign First?

The New York Giants enjoy a luxury not many teams can claim to have. They have 2 true difference makers at wide receiver in Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz. Both could be number 1 options on different teams and both are up for some form of free agency this offseason. Cruz is a restricted free agent, which means that the Giants can match any offer he gets from another team before he...
