We all love to laugh about how slow Patriots QB Tom Brady is. To be fair, he is really slow. But would you believe that it was Brady’s feet that helped him beat the Eagles on Sunday? It’s true. This was the focus of my weekly day-after-game feature, Subject to Review. How Brady got his team going by moving in the pocket and keeping plays alive. Not only did Brady run for a second-best-in-his-career 28 yards, but he also evaded the rush when necessary. His 63-yard strike to Deion Branch was because of his feet. I asked coach Bill Belichick  if that’s an underrated part of Brady’s game. “I don’t think it’s underrated at all,” Belichick said. “I think just about anybody who would evaluate Tom would say he’s probably got as good a pocket presence as just about any quarterback. He has very good pocket awareness and quickness in the pocket in a short space. I think that’s one of his big strengths.” (more…)

Tom Brady Hoping to Say Hello to Peyton Manning on Sunday

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Even though Colts quarterback Peyton Manning won't be in uniform for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Tom Brady is hoping to run into his long-time friend and rival at Gillette Stadium. Manning hasn't played this season after having neck surgery, but he has remained on the Colts' active roster. Manning was scheduled to undergo another medical...

Patriots WR Deion Branch explains why he “tried to run the last guy over” and his rapport with Brady

A few weeks ago, we wrote all about Patriots QB Tom Brady’s scramble rules and how the familiar with him can lead to big plays. Well, yeah, we saw that yesterday. On Branch’s 63-yard pass play, it was the ultimate example. Brady felt the rush, stepped up in the pocket, waved his favorite receiver downfield and they connected. Columnist Ron Borges described them as an old married...

The Old Sod Gums Up Tom Brady

DATELINE: HUMOR!   A funny thing happened to Tom Brady on the way to slicing and dicing the Philadelphia Eagles at their home field. Tom tried sliding to avoid the behemoth tacklers on the Philly side as he scrambled with the ball. We have seen better slides from Uncle Fred’s holiday in Poughkeepsie. It was not Brady’s fault as he dashed away for extra yards when...

Patriots Report Card: Tom Brady, Patriots Defense Prey on Vince Young, Eagles Mistakes

The Patriots rocked the supremely talented and maddeningly individualistic Eagles to the tune of a 38-20 victory Sunday in Philadelphia. Due to the strong performance, the Patriots got Monday off and will begin full preparations for the Colts on Wednesday in what is shaping up to be a glorified bye week. Let's hang this report card on the refrigerator. Offense Jeff Howe: A Tom...

Brady has watched some of Aaron Rodgers‘ performances this year, and says that you can’t get any better than Rodgers in 2011. “The way Aaron’s playing, it’s impossible to play the…

Making The Grades – Patriots at Eagles

By Jeremy Gottlieb, Patriots Daily Staff Doesn’t it seem like ages ago when all the haters out there were standing tall, beating their chests and harping on the completely hackneyed idea that Patriots coach Bill Belichick is finished? Three weeks by unofficial count. Over the course of that stretch, the Pats have embarked on a three-game winning streak during which they’ve rolled...
