Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley recently boasted that he and teammate Ndamukong Suh have the best DT combo in the league. Suh knows talk is cheap and that you have to go out and prove it every game, but at the same time, he doesn't see a problem with Nick's assessment. He agrees that he and Fairley “have the potential and the opportunity to be great." “I think it’s fun and it’s something good,” Suh said, via Andrew Siciliano of the NFL Network. “You’re doing something positive if you’re having a target on your back and you’re a main focus of offensive coaches and their staff. And they really have to focus on you guys and take the pressure off the rest of your teammates, allow them to make plays. If me and Nick can do that, that will be a great thing and something that I welcome and I know Nick welcomes. Let’s just make the most of it and instead of talking about it, let’s just be about it.”

  • Can never be confident about Detroit Lions predictions, but I like their odds this year. KVB & Avril are gone, but we bring in Isaiah Idonije, Jason Jones, and Ziggy, and I have a feeling Will Young will have his best year yet- upgrade. Suh & Fairley should only be better than last year- upgrade. Broyles and Burleson will be healthy- upgrade. Reggie Bush adds a dynamic to the run and short pass game- upgrade. The young Mikel Leshoure and Joique Bell should also only get better- upgrade. We drafted the fastest corner Darius Slay, add Glover Quin, Delmas & Houston will be healthy, and our three second year DBs from the 2012 draft including Bill Bentley should be improved and ready- upgrade. My concerns are at linebacker and the offensive line, but I love the Worford pick, and Reiff likely has improved. Our OL penalties shall decline, partly due to Cherilus leaving, and being a point of emphasis this offseason since the line is young and we had way too many last season. My #1 concern though is Stafford getting sacked and injured. I foresee it happening. The line is inexperienced, and Stafford doesn't have the best durability. Overall, the Lions have upgraded tremendously. My gut tells me we should go 8-8, but the fan in me says we can definitely go 12-4 if we remain healthy, limit turnovers, and better balance the run/pass attack.
