The versatile gunslinger was pursued by Chicago before he landed in the Bay Area.
When I say Chicago I don’t mean the Bears.
I speak of the Cubs that drafted Kaepernick to play in the big leagues just like guys such as John Elway. The only problem was he wanted no...

This could be what many NFL offenses look like in the future.
It may be a passing fad like the wildcat or run-and-shoot.
Either way, the Baltimore Ravens must find a way to disarm San Francisco's "Pistol" attack for their best shot at winning Super Bowl XLVII.
The 49ers don't use the formation on every snap. But when they do and the opposition is unprepared,...
If there's a head coach in the NFL that Colin Kaepernick resembles most this week, it's not Jim Harbaugh.
It's Bill Belichick.
Look at any of Belichick's recent quotes from a news conference, take away the hooded sweatshirt and replace it with a goatee and a few tattoos, and you have Colin Kaepernick. One-word answers, respect for his opponents, praise for just...
When Colin Kaepernick took over as the San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers can score as many points and run as many exotic, untraditional plays on Sunday as they'd like. If the...

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported via Twitter on Tuesday that the 49ers will attempt to trade Smith after their season ends this Sunday, and if that proves unsuccessful he will be respectfully...
Unless Alex Smith has to relieve Colin Kaepernick in Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday, the former No. 1 overall pick has likely played his last game with the 49ers.
Now, San Francisco has to pick between trading Smith and his $8.5 million contract, or releasing him. The quarterback would prefer the latter.
Smith will ask for his release before the start of free agency, March 12, according...
