Seattle Seahawks multi-purpose receiver Percy Harvin likes to moonlight, as a running back. He was a ‘Jack of all trades’ during his time at the University of Florida in their spread offense, and the Minnesota Vikings used him in a similar fashion. However, the Seahawks stumbled across the read-option in 2012 and it’s an integral part of the offensive system. Harvin’s skill set lends to the flexibility of the option based offense, his receiving skill allows him to lie up I any of the five wide receiver positions or eve I the backfield as a running back.   The variations can be mind numbing, a fake hand off and quick pass, a circle route from a fake pitch; it’s all there ready to be run. As for Harvin, this isn’t new stuff so to speak, but this will be the first time since his Florida days that he would be utilized in the backfield more predominantly "I'll be moving around -- pretty much all around," Harvin said, via Bob Condatta of the Seattle Times. "There'll be a little bit of running back coming up. But right now, we're just trying to get the foundation set, just running the base plays, and we'll see where it goes from there." "Very explosive," coach Pete Carroll said. "He took the ball and turned it up a couple of times today, and he's just lightning-fast. You can see why he's such a factor catching it and running it and in the kicking game."
