Mike Mayock is one of the best analysts in football, but his mind was clearly somewhere else for this play. Patriots QB Tim Tebow throws an interception against the Giants while a sideline interview is taking place. Mayock comes back and says, "that time a very bad throw there by Peyton Manning."
What the??? This is the first time anyone has ever confused Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning while throwing a football.
I can't quite blame Mike Mayock though. This just confirms what we all know - nobody gives a crap about the fourth preseason game.
BEST OF MAXIM
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock made an embarrassing blunder when he somehow mistakenly referred to New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow as Peyton Manning during the fourth quarter of Thursday night's NFL preseason game in Foxboro.
It happened after Tebow underthrew a pass which was intercepted by the New York Giants. Mayock summed up the play as "a very...
Thursday night may or may not have been the last sighting of Tim Tebow in an NFL uniform but it is at least a strong possibility.
The Patriots preseason finale against the Giants at Gillette Stadium — a 28-20 New England win — represented a last stand of sorts for Tebow and as he always seems to do he left a confounding impression. Tebow was underwhelming for most of the night...
It is finally here. Tonight is the final preseason game for the Broncos and the greatest time of the year starts exactly one week from today.
A few changes to remember this season:
The NFL’s new bag policy (ladies this mainly effects you). Make sure you know the policy before you decide to bring your fancy Chanel tote into the stadium.
Bronco fans: Peyton Manning has made a...
Tim Tebow showed promise during his short tenure with the Patriots, but New England ultimately decided to let the quarterback go Saturday afternoon.
After making it through one cut, the 26-year-old couldn’t survive the final roster trimming before the regular season gets underway. Tebow Time was short-lived in Boston, but should it have been?
In the past, the Pats have only employed...
A person familiar with the situation says Tim Tebow has been cut by the New England Patriots.
After being let go by his third team in 18 months - and with the regular season just five days away - the quarterback's chances of immediately catching on with another team seem slim. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Patriots had not announced the move. It was...
Tim Tebow is done with the New England Patriots. The next question is whether his NFL career is over too.
The Patriots waived Tebow on Saturday morning ESPN reported.
Tebow 26 signed a two-year contract with the Patriots in June that included no guarantees. In three preseason appearances he was 11-of-30 passing for 145 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist There wasn't much reason to dislike Tim Tebow, who never pretended to be anything he wasn't. Blame him for the Tebowing craze, if you will, but even that was worth a few laughs in a league that doesn't always embrace fun.
There wasn't much reason to like him as an NFL quarterback, either. Three teams tried...
Texas A&M will be without its quarterback for the first half of Saturday's season opener against the Rice Owls, but that is not going to stop the Aggie QB from trying to do his part to help the team out (hey--a little prayer never hurts anyone, right?).
The big question may be this--now that Tim Tebow has been cut by the New England Patriots and likely done in the NFL...
The Patriots will release quarterback Tim Tebow on Saturday, FOX
Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo confirms.
From ESPN: “The New England Patriots have released polarizing quarterback Tim Tebow, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Tebow, who signed with the Patriots in June, struggled to find consistency throughout the preseason. He never seriously threatened Ryan Mallett for the backup job behind Tom Brady.”
The New England Patriots could care less...
Not like this was a surprise, but at least Kraft was rooting for him? Timmy Tebow has officially been released by the New England Patriots today.

1. Jermaine Cunningham
The 25-year-old vet out of Florida has had little to no impact on the Patriots since being drafted in the second round of the 2010 draft. Cunningham has played in a total of 27 games for the Patriots while, recording just 3.5 sacks.
Cunningham projected as a reliable pass-rush option at the next...
