For the second time in just as many seasons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib will not finish the regular season on the active roster. The Buccaneers have placed Talib on the injured reserve list for the remainder of the regular season while he is dealing with a hamstring injury which has plagued him for several weeks now. The corner was questionable heading into Saturday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, and while still injured, he started the game but was unable to finish.
It is quite possible that Aqib Talib has played his final game for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is heading into the final year of his rookie contract but Talib is facing a legal battle this offseason stemming from an incident in Texans prior to the start of the 2011 regular season. Talib is alleged to have fired a handgun at his sister’s boyfriend and could be facing up to as many as 20 years in Texas prison if convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
